The movie was shot in Italy. They did their best to make it look like the US with props and choosing the more modern/dystopian looking places, but it is still not quite right, a bit off I think.

'The Omega Man' is the best movie based on 'I Am Legend'. *Edit/Note:* If they were aware of "not-Neville's" vampire-hunting activities, and didn't want him killing half-cured people, then they should have communicated that fact using signs or something, so their negligence is entirely on them.

Because they keep trying to break into his house every night to kill him. He will eventually run out of food and gas in his home and town, but the zombies will keep trying to attack him every night then he'll be trapped, so he has to protect himself
