Even without Elpy. I have 2 different combos that still end on Goliath Lechery and other Negates. Even trying to on the fly throw this trap card a bone towards being decent it is still just not worth.

Okay lets see how they should have designed it to make the cards kind of decent for the continous spell it should have said to special summon a level 4 or lower from your gy and as its second effect thet it allows to equip from hand dragunity tuners to another dragunity card. Also the unaffected effect should be permanent aka as long as this card is on field not just when they attack and it should also be for every dragunity not just lvl 5 and higher. For the counter trap it should be like the Blackwing Counter-Trap in other words if you control a Level 10 Dragunity Synchro you can activate this card from hand. For the Guisarme make it that it also counts as a lvl 2 tuner make that its first effect also triggers when special summoned, then if you really wanna powercreep it make that it can equip it self hard once per turn from gy to an dragunity monster. That are my ideas what do you guys think about it ?

The spell could have been a 3 off. Too bad, with some minor adjustments it could make the deck tier 1 from the box. Dragunity Draft Continuous Spell You can only activate this card name once per turn. (1) When this card is activated: You can send 1 Level 4 or lower “Dragunity” monster from your Deck to the GY. (2) Once per turn: You can target 1 Level 4 or lower “Dragunity” monster in your GY; add it to your hand, then immediately after this effect resolves, you can Normal Summon 1 "Dragunity" monster from your hand. While for the trap, even if monster negation is out of question to compliment the new synchro, it would be much more viable like this: Dragunity Purgatory Counter Trap You can only activate 1 card with this card’s name per turn. That guisarme effect would have made it better, but still mostly better for decks other than dragunity. The HOPT special summon from equip makes it a strictly worse phalanx/couse because you can't abuse it with Barcha/Leyvaten

Too good? The spell is like a second Ravine that helps pivot from Dux to Senatus if handtrapped, the Trap is typical counter trap like Tachyon Transmigration etc, while the monster is still HOPT and it gives a romulus on its own but still cannot be abused like the other tuners. @ jetsrule07748 the effect would help get romulus or a synchro from it, then search the still necessary combo pieces, albeit easier. @Mr Bubble because while ravine is even more accessible, this one wouldnt need a cost, while ravine is a handtrap magnet. You can omit the sendind altogether, the important part is the extra normal summon...

It's not the last new cards. Glow is 026 and Draft is 024, so there's still one more new spell not yet revealed. On a more positive note, love how most of the staple Dragunity cards are in this deck (Dux, Senatus, Phalanx, Couse, all the synchros that matter, Romulus, etc). If the remaining reprints have some value to them, it'll be yet another structure deck worth dropping the $30 for.

There's actually one spot between Glow and Draft in the Structure Deck to suggest we'll get another new Spell, plus a spot between the Spells and new Trap that could say we could get another Trap. Considering they haven't been revealed though, doubt they'll be anything worthwhile for the Deck.

I'll be honest, Draft would've been a staple 3 of if when you activate it, it gives you the option to add a level 4 or lower dragunity from the deck to hand. That way, it's a starter and a recursion in one card for good versatility. Void is okay to stop popular cards like Droplet, DRNM, and Talents, but I don't see the point when Goliath combo exists. The level 3 is honestly good, but the level holds it back. If it was level 2, it would be perfect in cases you don't open dux or ravine, since it won't happen every game. However, I would prefer if the first effect also worked on special summon, so that way, it has synergy with the first effect.

As a super fan of Dragunity archetype: is true that the new cards certainly can be improved, they aren't so so bad to blame Konami (except Guisarme, F*CK it should have been a level 2 at least) but considering the rest of the cards i guess is well balance if we remember that is a SD and usually the SD's only bring a couple good cards and the rest its just a fill for the deck. Sincerely, i'm happy with Legatus and since they confirmed Ascalon, Senatus, Couse and Gae Bulg for reprint

Each of these cards is so close to being good, it's painful. If Draft could recover from banished as well (seems like dragunity banish their stuff a lot) then it might see play as a 1-of. If Void replaced the stupid attack boosting effect with "If you control a level 10 you can activate this card from your hand," then it would actually be a really good way to stop disruption. Guisarme just needs a level 7 Synchro worth going into, which we might get in the future, but right now their are just too many better options. It's almost like these cards were designed with Duel Links in mind, but I play Dragunity in Duel Links, and I'm not even sure they would see play there.

Guisarme for me seems like a clear indication that the deck will get at least 1 more synchro monster, one with an odd level. It will probably be in Blazing Vortex, the set after Phantom Rage, but unless that thing literally wins the game, there is barely any reason to play Guisarme.

I know people could side Greed, but then you open the door to DRNM Lightning /Superpoly (assuming you ended with 5 dragons: Sav, CWSD, Goliath, Areadb and any Link Dragon (say Darkness Metal because you didn't use Sphere to avoid interruptions). And yes, all of these cards can be played on a deck (I fit them on Cydra Stun, in my case). Maybe Megalith could break your board, then synchro spam idk. It looks like a 1 of to me. Also yeah, it might get better if Elpy gets hit, which it might because of other dragon decks. So... Not the worst card, but not amazing. I agree with activating from hand because the boosting attack effect is stupid.

The only light I could see that gives Guisarme a modicum of viability is odd-eyes revolution dragon and trident both not being hard OPT. So you could dig out your opponents extra deck more than once. But like you said for the others, in the context of a modern dragunity deck, that’s not what the deck does

The spell isn't really good, but like I've deduced and he said, the trap is ok. It's a searchable counter trap that negates spells and traps. Its not a bad card. Sure these last cards might be underwhelming, but the Structure Deck has given a ton - Legatus, Remus, and Glow have pushed Dragunity forward leaps and bounds, covering everything we realistically could have wanted. Void, Draft, Gram, and Areadbhair are, in this sense, just gravy.

In the OCG format, void is definitely necessary. The play style is slower but it adds really good protection. Especially since it banishes the S/T in question. So areadhair negates monster effects and so does Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon. I agree the spell sucks but I was really hoping you'd like Dragunity Void. I think you might be underrating gram a bit. It seems kinda nice being a generic dragon extender to make romulus with and also facilitates some form of mid-game once you've comboed turn 1. How relevant a mid-game is for dragunity remains to be seen depending on the meta though

Dragunity has no mid-game to support. It is effectively an FTK deck, it wins fast or it loses fast, it is far too fragile to have anything else.

If you looked at the extra deck and the way the game plays, you literally go through your extra deck and put out your best board turn 1. Gram would be played had it been lv. 8. But it's not so it isnt ran. The effect also isn't a quick effect so I'm not summoning it.

Not the best cards overall but remember Konami makes Structure Decks keeping in mind that you aren’t adding any extra outside cards. So all the Amorphage and Forbidden Droplets etc. When it comes to Structure Decks Konami puts cards that will all work together without adding anything else.

I think Void would be good if we have more cards that can search Dragunity spell/trap, but right now Romulus being HOPT and Glow being so good just make other spell/trap unplayable. Actually, if we can search more spell/trap we probably go for Divine Lance anyway. And, atk increasing? seriously? When I saw Draft's effect, I was like, is Legatus HOPT? Sadly it is. As what it is right now, it exists in the wrong deck. Why just not make it able to recover Mystletainn though..... At first, I really hoped that Guisarme would interact with Gae Dearg somehow. I mean, Remus is a better Terraforming, Legatus is a better Garuda, so a better Baby Roc or Zephyros would be nice, right?. But what we got is disappointing.

I disagree about wut you said with spell card.Some Dragunity can be special summon from your hand. But don't do much in the gy. So it could be options/another game plain/another option to get another body out on the field. Plus the battle protection is always nice. May never no if you opponent(s) has a mirror force or not or hand trap or gy effect.But wish konaimi gave us card that recycle or recur banished Dragunity monster back in to your gy. Like as an effect for a link monster

Tridenting combo starters makes people ragequit. Not that i play it personally, but thats nowhere near as bad as you put it out to be. Hard countering combo decks with tight extra deck space isnt too horrible

@@PhoenixFlareX i mean sure but if you stop the opponent from playing their boardbreaking also becomes less relevant. Of course, you dont just sit on trident, but adapring the combo to a smaller board game 2 or 3 doesnt seem too bad, the issue is like you said, you gotta fit a lot of stuff into your extra to actually be able to pop off

The current combos, summon Goliath on MY TURN so if they were stopping Goliath they were handtrapping any combo even the shitty Trident one. And the board cannot be DRNM'd because Amorphage Lechery is searched and placed in the scale with Goliath already faceup. Sure thing my ass. lol

Anyway, i respect the balls deep attitude but theres no way i'd make the full board youre talking about, at least not the spell lock, through interruption consistently, so thats the place im coming from. I can, however, make a less impressive board. And trident can be a bonus. Again, not saying its especially good, but i do get why its an option. But hey, its all fun and games when youre playing alone

Draft can actually be used in a Dragunity beat down deck if anyone plays that. While it may not be good, it can have some use. You are right though, Draft isn’t playable in any viable Dragunity deck

You focused to much on the viability of a combo deck with these cards. Like I get it but sometimes it's these cards that make a game what it is. The deck is almost perfect too, almost all variance in reaching the combo is gone.

I mean...every time new support comes out aren't you skeptical about how it will measure up to current dragunity support? You literally have a video talking about how Senatus is trash and has no place in dragunity decks in 2018...two years later here we are. Im gonna go out on a limb and say these cards WILL find their way into a strategy at some point.

The difference here is Senatus did nothing in 2018, which was completely true. The card pool was not good for it as you had to step up into non dragon cards from the extra deck at the time. for another solid year. But the different between these cards is Senatus 1000% was insane on release. The card was objectively nuts, but it didnt have the needed pieces. It had room to grow as the deck expanded it's abilities to play with new additions. Draft has literally no room to be fit in as it's gutter trash. Guisarme is overall the wrong level entirely so it will be unlikely to find its way in since we have no shortage of normal summons or Phalanx like cards. The only slightly passable card is the Trap. But those points I made about Senatus are inverse for the Trap. The Trap can only become staple levels of good if the card pool of Dragunitys or the abilities of the deck itself get worse. It's a card we would have to settle for at best, rather than something we play because it's always the best option.

But in the long run, with the introduction of newer things down the line we may see odd level dragon synchros be released or come into favor at another time? With ice barrier support on its way i don't think its unreasonable for trishula to make a comeback, at which point we have an odd level tuner to make plays with in Guisarme
