Looks like it was filmed through a fish-eye lens, rendered on a Nintendo 64. The one improvement I wished for back in the day was that the screen would be scrolling.

What the heck is ArmaKuni? Because you can't say "Ar" in Japanese. Kuni means Country so perhaps it's a Pirate saying "Aargh, my Country!!"

That would be amazing - I hope that you managed to improve the gameplay a little with modern controllers compared to positioning in the past (I could never beat the lava as a 7-10 year old with those bloody stock joysticks), also the UI and graphics could clearly use a little work (need to match the colour a little more I think of the C64 version of the original game) but this game (for me and many others) is something astounding (the original I mean) so any update would catch attention I'm sure. I'm not sure about legality for commercialisation but I'm sure Ben Daglish would be up for an updated/remix version of the OST.. ben-daglish.net/contact/contact.shtml

While I appreciate the attempt... This is bad! This is awful!! This is HERESY!!! I'd rather fire-up my C64 emulator and replay The Last Ninja for the 1000.001th time before I accept some "modern bastardisation" of this cult-classic just because it "looks nice & plays like everything else" these days! It's a shame System 3 didn't give us their (aka the ONLY ONE THAT COUNTS) remake...

Unfortunately there does not seem to be enough of an interest for it out there to fund a remake. But Personally I would love to remake it, maybe I will give it a go in the future even if it is a small level to see how much interest is actually out there.

The thing is, LN took the available tech to it's limits. So any sequel pretty much has to do the same to become a worthy successor. Nevertheless, was fun to watch. Keep it up!

I can't believe after all these years that nobody has remade the last ninja trilogy, I know at one point they were going to do a 3D version version for the OG Xbox there were even a couple of screenshots posted but I guess it got cancelled. With the technology we have now, it would be awesome to see all 3 games done in a 2D or 2.5D engine after all they did it for Oddworld and Abe.

Hey, totally get where you're coming from about the Last Ninja series. I did this little remake 'cause I just loved the original so much. But diving deeper into projects like this takes a lot of time and resources, and there's always the concern of copyright issues. I'd love to see a remake. Hell if nobody does it I would love to take on the challenge myself and recontinue and give this classic the modern treatment it deserves, but it would need to make financial sense for me to fully commit. Your support and interest mean a lot, and who knows? If there's a way to navigate the challenges, I'd be thrilled to take it on further. 🥷🎮"

Could be the retro factor speaking, the last ninja being one of my childhood favorite game. I feel this game would not be able to glue me before the monitor, like the old one did. I have to emphasize again, i think you did a very good job with this, i just feel i wouldn't buy this game if you'd put it out to the market.
