It looks nice, but the woman sitting on the forecart has to endure the noise and exhaust fumes of a motor right next to her. Ground-driven would avoid that , but would be a harder pull for the four mules on this large field.

How often do they change teams in the course of a day? Thanks.

It’s unusual for a team to be worked more than 4-5 hours in a day. That would be broken up midday with an hour to an hour and a half lunch break. Underworking draft animals is a much greater concern than overworking generally. Underworked animals get out of shape relatively quickly .
