Those last moments, Alice's face just before she goes over the cliff to Uncas gives me goosebumps every time. Uncas was so handsome. A beautiful film, could watch it forever.

Have you watched the series called Blackstone? Eric Schweig, (Uncas) plays a damaged character; a chief on a reservation. He is mean and corrupt. A totally different role for him to play about 30 years later. I just watched 'Mohicans' last Sunday for the umpteenth time and loved it all over again. The music is soul stirring.

Interesting that you mention this different role that Eric played, one that I am not familiar with. In 2003 in "The Missing" with Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett, he plays a witch-type character, murderous and frightening , 180 degrees from the sensitive, quietly handsome Uncas. A testament to his range as an actor.

It's sad that Uncas and Alice didn't survive, but remember that the title of the film is The Last of the Mohicans. Uncas or Chingachgook had to die, and Chingachgook gives that great speech at the end of the film (director's expanded version) about what would happen to the Indians and the frontier. He was the last of the Mohicans.

@@philsville9026 a small town in North Carolina but they filmed the movie in the mountains near me in an area called Highland Falls, NC. You should be able to Google that and you'll be able to see where several waterfalls are located near each other with trails with different levels of difficulty getting to them. I can't remember exactly how many different waterfalls are in the area but one has a place that people slide down this big rock and land in a body of water at the bottom, ( like a man-made water slide is built basically but by Mother Earth's creations. Lol)
