I LOVED that during the shootout, Joel and Ellie were communicating just by glances. He shoots the clicker on the car, which tells Ellie, Joel is watching (cause she can't see him). Before she runs for the truck window, she looks up to the house then back to the truck, and Joel knows where she's going. And lastly, she looks to where Henry and Sam are, looks up to the house, and he knows she's going after them. He's not happy about it, but he clears the way.

Also Henry was absolutely the mvp of this episode. Just to add on to what John said about Henry’s last moments, remember Henry said he has NEVER shot or killed anyone by hand. In that moment the first person he had to kill was his own brother. That’s even more tragic.
@egalart Жыл бұрын
@@sheikgeek9150 in that one comment you both missed so much context and reiterated what I said about him not actually having to kill someone lol. He felt guilty party not violent killer. And he absolutely in his own actions felt like he killed his brother not an infected. “What did I do?” That’s a statement of knowing I killed an infected but more than that he was my brother. The attention to detail in this show is absolutely amazing! It has the incredible rewatchable quality, I find myself going back and rewatching episodes in anticipation for next week and seeing what I can pick up that I may have missed the first time. This show is rich with details! Kathleen getting taken out by a child clicker of all things was an incredible touch. And like what was mentioned, it doesn't hit you over the head and isn't obvious, but you can see Joel slowly changing as the show progresses. A lot of care and attention is put into each scene, and I deeply appreciate it as a viewer.

You see when watching the show I never meet Kathleen's brother or see how she changed so I can't really be that engaged in her vendetta as I am with Henry wanting to protect Sam. So her story with the hunters felt unnecessary to me. I don't know if they were limited on which episodes could be beyond an hour long but I really felt if they could have inserted another flashback that showed Kathleen's relationship with her brother and how the KC QZ was before he died, then this would have hit harder.

I don't think the fungi leaves insects fully aware. I'm not a mycologist but it seems the ants basically stop functioning as part of the colony, wander off, get lockjaw n die when the fungi feeds on their insides. But it takes much longer in nature than is portrayed in LOU.

As someone who's watched a playthrough, I'm eagerly waiting for other characters just based on the performances we've gotten thus far. And funny Rob brought up Black Adam and the kid - I just got around to watching it. When the movie got to the part where the kid was skateboarding through the market with the music playing...I instantly sighed and knew what movie I was getting. A 15 years too late one. And to my disappointment I was right. At least I got to see Hawkman and Dr Fate.

As someone who hasn't ever played the games, I still don't have a clear picture as to what "FEDRA" is. Is it an emergency government set up in place of the US gov? Is it a worldwide response organization? Is it a branch of the US government that is still operating in some areas? From all we've seen onscreen so far, it looks as if they are succeeding in keeping people safe in the Quarantine Zones.

Even though Kathleen ordered the execution of the collaborators we tend to ignore the real person who is responsible for their deaths, the collaborators themselves. They chose for various reasons to cooperate with FEDRA and turn in neighbors and friends. We already saw how the people were torturing and slaughtering FEDRA soldiers. If Kathleen set them free, they would have been killed by the people anyway in ways worse than being shot. This is what happens after every revolution in history. Consequences follow every character in the show. By trying to save his brother Henry made the change from Michael to Kathleen leading the resistance which ultimately led to everything that happened after that including the situation that resulted in Sam being bitten. In the end everyone, despite all their struggles, plans, and efforts, Henry, Sam, Michael, Kathleen, Perry, Anthony, FEDRA, the collaborators, the resistance, the people of KC who were caught between the two groups, absolutely everyone are dead. Only Joel and Ellie are left to know what happened or that any of these people even existed. We have to keep in mind what Neil Druckman says he was trying to make us think about with the story of TLOU, that love, especially love for a child can be dangerous and destructive.

What an awful take. The people responsible for FEDRA murders were FEDRA people. The people responsible for Kathleen’s murders were Kathleen and her people.

The actress that plays Kathleen is great at acting..... her acting isn't what puts me off about the character. It's that I understood that they put her there specifically for that contrast between soccer mom and assassin but they never show her committing a vile enough act that should make me believe she's capable of it. Again, the back story is well written and the acting is great on her end...... but when you have the 2 opposite sides of a spectrum (soccer mom vs. Assassin) you want to see an actual visual image of her applying violence to the highest degree. Her shooting the doctor without them showing it, or her telling ppl to do the dirty work like when she told them to kill the collaborators wasnt enough for me. Something that I think should've suffice was if they showed her strangling the doctor, who helped deliver her, with her bare hands after she smashed his hands with a hammer and you saw blood landing on her stone cold emotionless face. It needed to be that dark and extreme to make the public believe that this soccer mom was capable of such acts.

I think the only thing that would have made Kathleen work for me is when she was telling her backstory about her brother, the other dude tells her to give up the hunt for Henry and pushed back more. Tells Kathleen he has respect for her but she is ignoring the problem of the infected has not been cleared out underground and is coming through. She “agrees” and when he turns his back to walk out she shoots him and wastes everything for nothing. The bloater should have killed her. While the child clicker bites Sam. BUT I’m just rewriting at this point.
@bigolomofe415 Жыл бұрын
I wanna agree... But nah... I think most people who've been oppressed for about 2 decades would follow whoever freed them, probably to the death. Esp soldier types. A more introspective character may have pushed back against Kathleen's agenda, but not that soldier dude. Like the one who shot Sarah... They may not wanna do it, but they follow orders most of the time.
