I'm interested to know why you think that. Haven't played the remake but the animations, controls and AI seem like an improvement, but you're not the only top tier player I've seen express preference towards the original.

@Pedro_Le_Chef @Pedro_Le_Chef The only improvements are the graphic fidelity and the AI. The animations are not smoother than the original but instead are more buggy, incredibly slow, and impractical. For example, weapon switching is far too slow than the original; Joel attacks, runs, and vaults over obstacles much slower, etc. Mechanics such as tactically stunning enemies with running melee attacks have been removed-- this used to help save ammo and throwables; it was also very effective against clickers. Staggering clickers with fists are removed-- yes, you can still punch them in the remake to damage them; however, you can't use it to your advantage to save ammo and resources since clickers are un-phased by your attacks.
