The setting was really good, and the actress that played Ellie did a good just except she didn't really sound like her. I'm not talking about her actual voice, I'm talking about how in the game Ellie kinda has an angry tone when they are in a situation where they have to fight. This Ellie sounds scared and worried. Overall, you did a really good job.

Purely constructive criticism: Hearing the same exact dialogue from the game was actually really weird for me and took me out of the film, not sure if it was the same for everyone else. This is still one of the best fan films for the Last of Us, I just think that different dialogue should have been used.

This is awesome! But coming from a critic stand point, some of the lines directly from the game seem very forced. The guy who's playing Joel is great, but the girl playing Ellie could be better. Not saying she's a bad actress, but it just feels like she's trying to hard and not natural enough like Joel. Either way I enjoyed this, good job on making a great fan film!

Have to say I can't ignore the issues with the Ellie character - the actress is just too old and the performance...it's fine. I think the main problem is the age, it offsets her look and her voice. We are meant to believe that these two could be father and daughter and that age gap looks pretty impossible in this version. That being said - holy shit, you found the perfect actor for Joel!

I've done low budget movies before as well and all things considered, you made definitely made the most out of a small budget. I appreciate how difficult it must have been to find someone to play Ellie and you are of course right - unless you are talking about a big production, getting actual kids on a dangerous set is a real problem (even when it is a big production it is no picnic.) Don't get me wrong, I didn't think the performance was bad - I think it is just the same issue that everyone feels who is in love with the source material (as it is with almost any adaptation of a beloved story.) We all have a lot of trouble letting go of the very particular aesthetic chosen by naughty dog to portray a particularly young looking girl as Ellie, which made a huge impact on most of the audience when we see her in unbelievably 'adult' situations. I imagine this was something that was considered by the production team and hence why you considered so many candidates. Anyway, I'm going to go check out the sequel immediately and, once again, you owned that role of Joel. Congratulations with the positive reception your films are getting - could there maybe be a crowd-funded project in the future as a result of all this?

I can't help to explain, so we get on KZbin and first off I'm a gamer and the last of us is the most amazing story mode game ever, back to the main thing, we get on KZbin and venture into so many videos we start off with something we intended to watch and end up watching something Japanese person poke walls with pens, lol. Well I was wondering if I could get goosebumps, the chills, or that ASMR feeling. So I searched "a video that will give you goosebumps" lol nothing helped, but then I thought what could give me goosebumps instantly.. I said "listening to ezio's family song from assassins creed 2 will.. But what what will give me goosebumps over and over and over and immideatly. So I typed in the last of us, saw this film fan I've never watched, and ass soon as they started talking and the music from the game started playing I instantly got goosebumps. Really loved this! This was awesome! SO MUCH DETAILS! But only if somethings could be kept in mind Like Ellie and Joel never make eye contact while talking unless they're talking about something very serious. Secondly Ellie never gets tensed or scared, which we could kinda make out here from her face. Ellie should be younger, though the actress here did an INCREDIBLE job. Hats off! And also chole grace moretz like a guy said , could be a more of ellie-looking or even Ellen Page. Also there should've been a gap between dialogues of Ellie. the dialogues are same i love it like too rich for my blood line in part 1 where jole take ellie on the plank and they even find the coffee machine come onn it was one heck of the moment if you have seen brad playin it you will know what i am talking about edit: I shot hell of that guy - joel not appertaining mann this is the moment where the bond formation starts
