As an architect, it hurts to know how much our natural old growth forests and habitats have been devastated by industrailization. It's my life's goal to re-establish how we build around / protect these ecosystems

Yeah good luck with that

Blame your foremothers and forefathers for this disaster and destruction, that y’all did on this land, now yall living lavishly off her. When my ancestors walked these lands all the forest and ecosystem was here and flowing. It wasn’t until barbaric colonizers came

@@theone1718, the yonega would have come regardless. Only in the great mothers reset will we be given a new birth.

We also have diseases like chestnut blight that have dramatically changed the forest composition over the last 100 years. Great to see content focused on forests in this area

I’m glad they’re trying to come up with resistant chestnut cultivars. We could end up with them back before too long!

I must be there... How? This is a dream to preserve these wonderful places

What I'd give to see a huge forest of MASSIVE Oaks like we read about in the European fairytales.

Amazing to look at, sad that they’re gone but good to know that they can (and are, in some places) return.

Makes me sad because will never see it in our life times it would take 200-300 years if we decided to let the forests grow back

I've really been wondering about how much is GMO forest? Starting to think it's almost everything. I think that's the reason why there's so many fires. Pretty sure they seed after harvest but with GMO seeds. Could be wrong but more info on this would really put things in perspective for more people than just me.

Old Growth Forest network disagrees . There's old growth forest up and down the east coast and extends to illinois.. In fact the US government has just said this year they cataloged over 100 million acres of old growth left.
