This is one of my all-time favorite movies, and at 71 I've seen a lot of 'em. My affection is possibly due to a very personal connection with LPS having been born and raised in a two exactly like Anarene. But it's so much more than that. The film is perfectly cast with everyone delivering top notch performances, the script is flawless, and the direction without peer. Love Bogs as I do, this remains his finest effort, his masterpiece. And look at all the careers it either launched or cemented! Thank you for this keen appreciation of one of cinema's enduring gems.

I saw this movie at its release. I was just shy of turning 14 this was the first time I ever got emotional over a movie. I didn't even know why. I always see it once a year to remember who I once was.

I'm from Wichita Falls and have fond memories this movie even being born in 75. My grandmother lived in Archer city and I got to hear all the stories. Texasville was the sequel and one of my friends was one of the kids throwing eggs on their BMXs

It's my favorite film. Perhaps Sunny never leaves because he's waiting for the town to really become his home.

Hollywood tells a million beautiful stories to us about life. The ultimate nature of human reality is what I think they're shooting for here. A good number of things look so much the same today. "Same as it ever was"

I really loved the generational mixing in the town depicted in LPS. The town social/dance section was quite interesting. People didn’t mix like that in my 1960’s New Jersey town. Did it even really happen in 1950s Texas? Ben Johnson was phenomenal.

This was brilliant. This movie changed my life and 15 in 1971, I've become a famous American artist since. Four of my painting name MARQUEE are based on it,

Clu Gulager steals every scene he is in. Sexy, intriguing, says alot with just his eyes. Ben Johnson was flawless , as were Cloris, Eileen, and Ellen. I loved it all

Great movie. Shows the messiness of life in its true form. People haven’t really changed much.

I think another theme is youth vs age and you often watch the older characters leech off the youth and vitality of the younger characters
