@@djmidori Ahh you're lucky to have seen Luna Sea, that's the only band I'm missing! I saw L'Arc, VAMPS, X Japan multiple times, and I've seen Miyavi multiple times too.

It’s a vastly different interpretation of America’s ‘80s glam rock scene than one would think, huh? 😂 Чертовски жаль, что Хидэ из «X Japan» умер

✨🎸💓✨ An Absolute highlight! Seeing these two together again... and into the future - these battles have the potential to get really crazy - can't wait to see what they do with this, how they evolve this, over time ✨

I first knew of Miyavi from when he played "The Bird" in Unbroken but WOWWOWOW. He's crazy talented and passionate, the dude is just covered in tattoos, and physically he is one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen (besides HYDE). AND HE LOVES HIS KIDS SO MUCH IT'S SO FUCKING CUTE. 🥺🥺 Someone call UPS because Miyavi is the entire fucking package.

that was damn epic, there aren't many guitarists today that could hang with THAT and these guys are in their 50s. God bless Japan

@Doc Loco yep, he's the baby of the bunch, Hyde and Sugizo are mid 50s and Yoshiki is close to 60

Frankly Sugizo is quite old school and not the best improviser to drive a crowd. Miyavi has his energy and playstyle that is probably more modern and more suitable for such a moment with an audience. His showmanship qualities are more evident. While technically Sugizo is very sound, he is actually messy there and not super inspired, just repeated shredding that is not super interesting. He doesn't have a sound that is recognisable. So I would say in metal many (if not most) guitarists would have no problem hanging with them. Sugizo and Miyavi never were technical monsters but they explored a sound at one point in their career and capitalised on it. Much like Hammet capitalised on the wah... I would say Miyavi is still relevant today although it's the same thing we heard 15 years ago from him.
