I don't know what's more baffling, the fact that it's been 14 years since the last Scooby-Doo game or the fact that we got a Looney Tunes Sports game that looks like a PS2 game before even getting at least a remaster of Night of 100 Frights or a remake of Unmasked. I feel like WB really underestimates the popularity of the Scooby franchise nowadays.

I agree with basically everything there. I remember playing both of these games when I was younger with my friend (so maybe having played it on co-op made the game be more memorable and fun for me? idk) and I loved First Frights. It was very fun exploring 4 different cases with different envrionments and unlocking new costumes (althought I remember case 2 being meh). Then we played Spooky Swamp and I remember.... nothing? I remember playing catch with random items inside a huge mansion and a big skull boss and that is it. I don't understand how they went wrong with this game. It is so sad that we are not getting more Scooby games. I played Cyberchase, Night of 100 frights, Unmasked, both the Scooby kids games, and the SNES one. All of them had very unique elements and gameplay approaches alongside the silly Scooby humor. I wish we could get more similar and bigger Scooby games, or some the remakes with new stuff in it, or just any Scooby game at this point lol. (Also, 100 Frights is peak Scooby. I replayed it this year and it is so fun, the OST is good, and completing the monster token collection is so nostalgic).

Another good video. Honestly I think the art style for these two games kills it for me. When I was younger I thought it was geared towards small kids because of it. Personally its a shame that the franchise didnt continue making games in a general sense. Id love to see a resident evil style game (obviously not as scary) where you roam around in large areas and monsters chase you as you pick up clues and solve puzzles. Kinda fits the metroidvania style that 100 Frights has but in a more story driven and cinematic feel where you would pick up puzzle pieces and avoid monsters in some environment, maybe some small combat with bosses to spice it up. Id love to see you do a video on what a potential MODERN Scooby game could look like. Maybe taking into account whats on the market. Whats popular. How it could work. What mistakes not to repeat. Etc. Could be a good what if concept that I dont think anyone has done on KZbin. Anyways. Good work as always!

Grew up with the old Scooby games, SpongeBob games and Breakin' Da Rules, and you sir have done a fantastic job with these videos. Gotta check finally do that because i do think they are more fun than most other scooby titles (except my KING UNMASKED) but losing my save data made me mad lol I hope we get a big budget game one day. The Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sports looks fun imo. I just think WB should've made a MultiVersus sports game instead, though. It's strange that they decided to go for a standalone Looney Tunes sports over that idea. A MultiVersus sports game probably would've built up way more hype. As for Scooby-Doo games, I love First Frights. I used to have it on PS2 back in 2009. I picked up a Wii copy of it last month, and it still holds up. If we were to ever get a new Scooby-Doo game, I want one that's similar to Alan Wake and Gylt.

Okay. I actually just played these games back to back (probably why this popped up.) And I got to say. I almost agree with everything just said. With that being said though, I actually enjoyed Spooky Swamp more than First Frights. Now, before you get mad at me, I will say, it is definitety lacking. A lot. But, I would like to add a little bit to the conversarion. First, I feel like the more open world of Spooky Swamp works in the gamrs favor. When I look back at First Frights, I feel like many of the levels were just fluff. Area 1 is good, but only had 2 shorter levels. Area 2 is alright, having the carnival and the inside machinery. But after that, if felt like we were just doing the same thing. Area 3 is 2 levels of like rocks and an empty town, and 2 in the ghost ship. And area 4 id just castle. It became very boring very quickly. I would only play a level or 2 before getring really bored. When it comes to Spooky Swamp however, I feel the more open world helps aleviate this issue. I feel like I got more connected to El Muncho and Howling Peaks. The locstions were nice, and I thought it worked better when we had locations we visit more often. It was also cool, because it conne ted everything. In First Frights, I enjoyed the chase and boss fights, but it also felt like they just happened. There wss no flow to it. In Spooky Swamp though, there was purpose in it. Scooby and Shaggy are working to get to a location, only to have the Big Bad come in a attack them, making them feel, where they then assess and return once more prepared, bringing the boss fight. Next, I think the collectathon portion makes the game more enjoyable. Because they enemies drop masks that give a collectable, it made me want to fight them, as it gave me an insentive, where in First Frights, I only fought them when I had to, since there wasn't much purpose, though they forced you to fight many of them. I think the camera was alright, though the magnifying glass does suck (I played on the Wii). The way it works is that you should need to put the magnifying glass over where the trail is going to lead next, or if an item wss out of place. It isn't explained and it's stupid. On the Wii, but ends up just being that you swing the remote around, and then you find it, which is a bit annoying, but not overly awful. Also, the graphics look pretty good on the Wii, and the glitches you had weren't there (at least for me.) Thst being said, it isn't that much of a step up from First Fright. I will be ending this on a little bit of downer. And that is the catching the culprit portion. And this is a problem with both games. Pretty much each time, the culprit is so obvious, you don't even need clues. And even if you get the culprit wrong, nothing really happens. I think you get a couple scooby snacks, but thst is it. Would be cool if this was more fleshed out. In the end, this is my opinion. The way I would sum it up is that I feel like is that both games are a bit empty and too short. However, if First Frights had an extra area, I would be a little tired. If there was another area in Spooky Swamp, I would be excited. I think both have great potential, but I think Spooky Swamp used more of it. Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk.
