I find it disturbing that the wine is not present in this painting. The everlasting covenant made between man and God included the bread as the body of Jesus and the wine as his blood spilled out at the cross to save our souls.

Jesus later says that it was better that Judas had never been born because of the place that was reserved for him in hell where he would eternally reside Judas Sold out his soul for 30 pieces of silver. Do we sell out our souls for the love of money ? We must all ask ourselves that question.
