Last I heard, Moira Foot is also still alive. She played Mr. Rumbold's secretary, Miss Thorpe, in a few episodes. Anyway, Are You Being Served is one of my favorite British comedies of all time, along with Keeping Up Appearances. I used to watch both of them every Saturday night with my Grandpa back in the 1990s, and now have both series on DVD to watch whenever I want. As many times as I've seen them, they're still just as funny.

My Favorite show❤. So much fun comes through on screen. You really tell they admire each other, and really care for one another. It didn't even hurt the show, when cast members were replaced. So long as it wasn't the main cast. Mrs. Slocombe and Mr Humphrey. Those two, wow! It was good to see them, turn into good friends as the show go on. Still was funny, first days of their department. As they struggle to make both department work. Now been force to work on same floor instead of being segregated. It doesn't matter how many times I watch it, I loved it more and more. Cheeky jokes, risky behaviors, rich and poor drama, so good. ❤ This show and Allo Allo needs to be in a Film museum.

I am a big fan of ‘Are you being served?’ (UK series). I have also seen the Australian series, which was broadcast on ATV-10, in 1980, as the channel ditched broadcasting on the 0 (VHF) analog frequency, later picked up by the Fraser Liberal Government. Channel 0/28, Multicultural Television, now known as the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS). The Australian version, consisted of 16 episodes starring John Inman, June Bronhill and Shane Bourne. The show was set in the fictional Bone Brothers Department Store. There was a NSW/ACT department store called Grace Brothers at the time, which was later acquired and rebranded as Myers.

I remember John Inman coming in to the local PBS station when they first began airing Are You Being Served back in the 90's. I believe it was pledge week and they were having people dressed as their favorite characters from the show, and he was to judge the best outfit at the end.

The narration isn't properly synchronized. Blane will be speaking about the AYBS character that a particular actor or actress portrayed, only for a different actor/actress, or character, to be seen as the video plays. This mismatch won't help the viewer who isn't familiar with the show. It was difficult enough for those of us who are well-versed with AYBS to sort it out. I did like Are You Being Served? when it was first on, but then I was only a kid at the time. Watching it back as an adult, I find it baffling why it's so popular. Is it really that good? Are You Being Served is the best British sitcom. There are many other shows written by David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd that are also great. David Croft and Jimmy Perry also did great shows: Hi-De-Hi, Dad's Army etc. They were all wonderful shows.
