Addressing two things and then yall can have it! This is my opinion.. let’s all remember that. Everyone is entitled to have theirs. 1. Beatles comment; i didn’t intend to come across as disrespecting/disrespectful at all. It’s a genuine question & a follow up - I wasn’t aware you can be nominated for an AI song as well. 2. Beyoncé. I am a fan of Beyoncé and her work. I never once knocked down her talent like some of you are trying to spin it as. My comment with winning AOTY bc of Jay Z is not because she isn’t talented or doesn’t deserve it. I’m saying this because, just like in other categories that, for example, taylor swift is nominated in - everyone says it’s a given she’s winning. So my point is, now that some people took Jay Z last year as “threatening” or “calling out” the Grammys, that I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave it to Beyoncé for this very reason or it wouldn’t be coincidental. Beyoncé has been nominated numerous times for AOTY with other albums and has deserved to win before and didn’t. So, I’m just saying, the timing would be VERY funny and not surprising if she were to take home her first AOTY Grammy with CC. Beyoncé is a one of a kind, generational, talent and outstanding performer. Let’s not get that confused and please know where I stand. Feel free to watch my reactions to CC & Renaissance. I enjoyed both. BUT, I do not think she should win AOTY. Simple. Please stop with the think pieces.

The reason why Chappells album was submitted/nominated this year was because it came out during the eligibility period. The eligibility period for this year was from September 16th 2023 to August 30th 2024 so basically releases from that time period can be submitted. Chappells album was released on September 22nd 2023, it couldn't be submitted last year so they submitted it this year.

i remember that she had a disagreement with ken ehrlich in 2019. ehrlich was the main producer of the grammys. yes she was nominated in 2020 and performed but it seems to me that the recording academy can hold a grudge and that their voters show biased behavior. and i think that the recording academy doesn‘t represent the public opinion and that they systematically favor certain artists over others.

Who is surprised? Ariana Grande has never ever EVER been a Grammy darling. I’ve been saying this for years. Only one of her albums ever won a Grammy: Sweetener. Her pop album was outshined by Sabrina, Billie, Chappell, Charli & Taylor, so it got lost in the shuffle. The Grammys like NARRATIVE, they like a story. Sabrina, Charli and Chappell had huge breakouts so they’re getting their flowers. Taylor and Beyonce were shoe-ins. Jacob and Andre are Grammy darlings. This AOTY list made perfect sense to me. Had Ari been nominated, she would’ve lost. She wouldn’t have gotten more recording academy votes than Billie or Taylor. They respect them far more than Ari.

IDC what point you’re trying to make, do not bring up Beyoncé in your foolishness. I love Ariana and Eternal Sunshine but it’s simply a normal ariana pop album. COWBOY CARTER had the world talking about the origins of country music, broke down barriers for black country music on the charts and helped to bring black country artists to the forefront in a racist industry including one who had the biggest hit of the year (Shaboozey). If Jay Z had the power y’all claim he did, both him and her would have won many AOTYs. He just publicly said something many ppl have been saying since she lost in 2015. NO BLACK WOMAN has won AOTY in 25+ years and less than 5 total in the history of the show. I’m so over y’all discrediting everything this woman does for simply being great. Her daddy made her famous, her grammys are bought, she doesn’t write, she’s overrated. At what point is it enough? The only thing that I disagree with so far, is the best pop solo song. Only because yes, Bey curated a country album, but the album is such a genre bending album that there are so many genres packed within the label that it was given which was country. So, I do think it was fair for her to get a nom in pop solo song. But I do think there were other songs that deserved it more.

I still remember the anticipation I had for ariana to return.....the ag7 trailer , yes and releasing and then after further wait , eternal Sunshine came out that made my whole year up to this day I really love the album. Of course I heard other albums too but none of them had such an impact like eternal Sunshine did. But so many things robbed from Ari feels disrespectful towards Ari.
