I love an unhaul and appreciate how you tell us why you are getting rid of your books. I always think it's funny how I can look at my shelves and think I can't remember anything about that book, that usually puts it on the unhaul pile. I have three ways of doing an unhaul, either a DNF or finished book that I didn't enjoy goes straight on the pile. I go through my TBR shelves now and again and find books that I'm no longer excited to read and I also unhaul from my main bookshelf, once I've had time to think about the books and whether I want to read them again 🍓

🍓 I hadn't used to unhaul my books, but due to space and reading, taste has changed. I have started to. I send pics to all my bookish friends first, and then the rest are off to the charity shop. As I know, own a Kindle paperwhite. If I feel the need to reread, I can get an electronic copy ❤

🍓 Hmmm unhaul. Not too good at that I admit, but I am having to be ruthless and if it's a physical copy, it's read and then either onto my book buddy or the charity bookshop. If I am totally in love with it, it'll stay on the shelf but I am being more of the mindset "read and gone". I also still have a lot of older stuff on my shelves that I probably just need to say bye to. Am I ready? Maybe in 2025 🤭 X

we have exactly the same system, unless I know I’m going to reread I’ll get rid of books pretty much straight away. I’m lucky that I can use the library so much though, so there’s been less of that in recent years! 🍓

Possibly unpopular opinion - Dickens wrote the same novel several times. Or rather, the same characters in different situations. The heroines are certainly always a sweet-natured, demure woman who waits quietly until the hero notices her. And the second baddie always has a nasty case of small man syndrome/middle manager vibe.
