Thanks for this beautiful gift of an audiobook! What a time that was! When game was abundant in both India and Africa. I dont condone indiscriminate killing of animals, but rather responsible hunting in a sporting way to test one's skills against nature. I agree with the author that just roaming around in the jungle on foot and appreciating nature and the wildlife is all part of the mystery and thrill associated with it.

Anderson relates how the expansion of population, the clash of domestic animals and wild ones, and the availability of poison supplied by Government to protect crops from insects (but was deadly when targeted to carnivores) resulted in wild animals, tigers particularly, nearing extinction.

SERIOUSLY? You are clearly not a deep thinker, are you? Your god, who you religious people claim created everything, is an indiscriminate mass murderer via earthquakes, floods, tidal waves, wildfires, hurricanes, disease, etc!

Very nice to see the transition from the last shikar days to now days. Unfortunately in India there wasn’t enough preservation to allow an equilibrium between hunting and wildlife. We can only imagine how nice would be to have all that freedom and live this kind of adventures. Thanks for the story!

@selvalore Жыл бұрын
"Dorai", as I understand was a term used to address an englishman in that part of India. Equivalent to the "sahib" used in northern India.
