Do as much as you can, even if you have to do it alone. My dad met this young kid that had never left their city. A very small city. He put them in his truck and drove them damn near around the Bay and talked to them. My dad had been in the military. He showed that kid a lot. Different cities, took them to eat, where Different malls were, told them don't be afraid to get on a bus or train and go. Showed them the beach all that. Spent a whole day with this kid. Couldn't believe how amazed they were. He said my daughter is a teen and has done more than you. He told me don't be like that. Get out.

I used to know an Ex-con who was jailed for taking the fall for an assault a "friend" of his had committed when he was my age (23), this video just opens my eyes because I remember asking him if his friend had ever taken "time" for him. And he just kind of looked at me and laughed. And that's all I needed to hear. Shit sucks. Some people are so stuck in the hood and on staying strong "for the gang" they sell their own lives for others who wouldn't even sit in the back of a police car for them. Sad man:/

Bro seriously. I work in a juvie. I had a baby young with a demon baby mama and missed my 20s because of dealing with her abuse, manipulation. When these kids tell me they wanna and planning to have a baby at 16,17. I tell them, “I don’t wanna tell you what to do”....but enjoy life first man. Experience things. Enjoy school, high school, girls, travel, your 20s, freedom. I’m only in my late 20s. But when you see someone younger than you....sometimes you wanna give them a piece of advice to see them live the happiness you missed out on [Update 1 yr later: life has gotten better. Separated and enjoying life little by little. Picking myself back up. Still work w kids and I still tell them the same. Go out, enjoy the simple things. Get a job, save, build credit, have a car so you can take a girl out and have experience being a man young, have fun, just enjoy it while you can. Cherish the true pleasures of life]
