This theme song helped cure my depression. Stressful job, bad bosses, history of stress from military deployments. Had strange physical manifestations to the pressure. HATED going to bed because work came next. Found this show. Heard this song. I tear up a little hearing it now. Craig needs to take more credit. He pulled a lot of people like me out of some dark places. God bless him.

agreed. i was just listening to elo and thought, wait a minute, haven't i heard this before? craig ferguson? no, elo song doesn't have "tomorrow's just a future yesterday" lyric. hmm. maybe it was his opening song? or a reworded tune?... but i read your comment and i guess it is just a vibe reminiscent.

It's funny, but to me, this theme is as if a punk singer decided to cover ELO. The orchestration and lyrics scream Jeff Lynne but Craig's years as a punk rocker bleed through in the underlying frenetic energy and "f--k the world, let's be crazy!" message of the song, along with a gentler version of the kind of snarl punk rockers used in their music in Craig's day.

You look so lovely when your eyes are red … (instrumental bridge) Tomorrow's just your future yesterday The world can be such a fright But it belongs to us tonight What's the point of going to bed? You look so lovely when your eyes are red It's hard to stay up It's been a long long day And you've got the Sandman at your door But hang on Leave the TV on And let's do it anyway It's okay You can always sleep through work tomorrow Okay, Hey hey Tomorrow's just your future yesterday Tomorrow's just your future … Yesterday

I have a theory: "Tomorrow's just your future yesterday". I believe that's not only a catchy phrase. Craig is a recovering alcoholic, and I've heard that for a recovering alcoholic, sometimes it's important to say "Ok. One day at a time. I'm just not gonna drink today.". So maybe "Tomorrow's just your future yesterday" is, in some subconscious form, a way of looking brightly at the future (through the eyes of a recovering alcoholic) without the burden of thinking about it as a deed. Which I think is just GENIUS. Just a thought.

I first watched this show because I heard Craig was a fellow Whovian. I was a young teen and at that point I had a hard time staying up late. But I did it and it was worth every single second I had to fight back my sleepiness. Watching Craig was like hanging out with a crazy relative that you can't take too seriously but is always willing to lighten the mood, comfort and gives good advice when things get bad. Late night tv was worth staying up for. Fast forward to today and there isn't anybody I look forward to seeing anymore except Conan. (Heck, i went to bed early because Jimmy Fallon was driving nuts and it wasnt worth staying up.) At least I can watch clips of my favorite late night Douche thanks to KZbin.
