2manyusernamestaken I think if I were single it would be easy. I am reading the quran but realise it is not that simple to read. I can recite al ihklas in arabic and am learning al fatihah in arabic although I know it in English. I find it mysteriously adictive when recited.i suppose I am on a spiritual journey at present. There are many things I really love about Islam including prostration and not trying to humanise Allah. The simplicity of the masjid I like too, nothing to destract you from your focus on the creator. I also think for want of a better word the strictness of it is a good thing, where people have a set of rules to live life by. It is common sense to live by a set of good rules but I think it very important not only to live by the rules but to understand the spirit of the rules too. I must admit, I have always liked to drink alcohol and could easily drink a bottle of wine in an evening, perhaps on a Friday night but for some strange reason on 4th October whilst travelling on the plane home to Sydney after having a couple of drinks I decided this was my last one and I havent had one since. Islam forbids alcohol, maybe that is why I stopped, but more to the point is why. I once thought the Quran was suras containing verses or ayats but ayat doesnt mean verse it means sign. The sign to not take mind altering substances is there because it hinders our connection to Allah, ie how can you pray when your mind is confused by drugs, also nobody can doubt the problems alcohol causes, ask any doctor or policeman. To seek God is to sincerely surrender to him so him, to have a halal heart to love God and honour him by loving others and dying to selfish ego Maybe I am muslim but just havent realised it

steven rowe Wow, you definitely know more than the day-to-day Muslim ;) If you believe in the following things I am going to mention, then you're Muslim by heart: - Allah (quran.com/112) - The Prophets of Allah (from Adam a.s. to Muhammad s.a.w., including Jesus a.s.) - The Books given to the Prophets (Taurat, Zabur, Injil, etc.) - The unseen (e.g. the angels) - The Day of Judgement (heaven/hell) If you believe in these things, then I urge you to say your shahada: la illaha illallah, Muhammad rasulala, meaning: there is nothing worthy of worship, except Allah, and Muhammad is his Messenger. If possible, say it in front of at least two Muslims, so that they are a witness of your testimony of faith. If that's not possible, then Allah will be your witness :) You have nothing to lose. It's a win-win situation. Islam is already in your heart, you only have to make it official by saying the shahada. Note that sinning does not make you a kafir (disbeliever), but rejecting the Truth (i.e. Qur'an and Sahih Hadith) is act of kufr (disbelief). I hope you will get 1.6+ billion brothers and sisters soon in sha 'Allah (God willingly). Don't wait too long, because you don't know when you get to your deadline. May peace, mercy and blessings be upon you and your family in this life, and in the hereafter. And may Allah make it easy for you. Ameen.

Before this video, I knew nothing about this lady. She spoke with courage, confidence and conviction. Her home has no room for ignorance. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden. (The food 116) The Jews call �zair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! (Repentance 30) Certainly they disbelieve who say: "Allah is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the Garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help. (The food 72) They disbelieved who say: Allah is one of three (in a Trinity): for there is no god except One God. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous chastisement will befall the disbelievers among them.(The food 73) 1.Say: He is Allah, the One;2.Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;3.He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;4.And there is none like unto Him.(The unity 112)

A brown desi woman asking if she can interfere/ make her son/ daughter accept her choice because she thinks it's the best one? Ans. She can make suggestions and present her choice, but she cannot force physically or forcefully advise/ pressurize mentally to make her children accept her choice because she thinks it's the best for him/ her. 2. Is female circumcision is islamic? Ans. No, it's not a islamic practice. Most muslims do not do it as it is not islamic. It's a cultural practice of some African people.

I think you've forgotten that you started this thread with the comment, "Now [Aminah] knows the truth that there is nothing after death". So you began this particular thread with the *positive statement and affirmation* that there is nothing after death. You were not agnostic on the issue; you spoke with the certainty of knowledge (or what you believe to be the certainty of knowledge). If you want to take that statement back, that's great.
