He reads the scriptures , he was way ahead of most people - he was not afraid to read the book - Now thay all love their words more the scriptures. Ego at work.

He knew that in the end times there would be a famine of the Word. Also we knew 20 yrs before Tkaich that wolves in sheep's clothing would come in (from within the church), but I'm sure he didn't foresee the way it would happen. God says too When He has accomplished to scatter the "power" of the holy ppl, then shall the End (of the age) come. Well, there's a couple of splinter groups with enuff money for TV broadcast but that's all. HWA was an ad man and knew how to use the media. Church of God grew so big, so fast (big in power, with contacts with world leaders everywhere, and in Money bc we understood Tithing. But Not in numbers.) President Reagan sent a personal note from him and Nancy when HWA died, and a number of World Leaders flew here for the funeral. But he was not a prophet in the old sense and would be the first to say that. Rather he saw his role as a watchman, to warn modern "Israel" of her sins. The First Resurrection really only needs a "transition" team and "kings and priest", to prepare for the greatest Ressurection after the the 1000 yrs. Seems a long time till we can see our deceased loved ones...but "a thousand yrs is like a day"!
