The Layout is Back! - First Test Runs and In-Service Train

After two years of reconstruction, the layout is back in service! At 9:36 PM on July 1, 2022, the first in-service train left Willets Point for 34 Street - Hudson Yards. Unlike before, the MTH R188 set now stops almost perfectly in auto-mode. I am not sure if the issue was caused by the old remote. It does not seem to be the sound set as I had originally thought. Stay tuned for even more cool model train videos in the near future!

Fantastic run! I’ve always dream of having the MTH R142, but unfortunately they’re out of stock though. I also like how it was converted into an R188, with blue interior lighting, announcements, yellow line around Anti-climber that makes it 10x better!

Reminds me of my commuting days on the LIRR. Those are sounds you'll never forget: "Stand clear of the closing doors please." "This is the train to...Jamaica. The next stop is...Kew Gardens."

It's running tooooo fast around the layout!!! Oh Nooo!!! I think I just saw an old lady in one of the cars spill her hot tea over a sitting passenger that wouldn't give up his seat at the prvious station upon the train pulling into Court Sq.
