Suho is incredibly patient! With the amount of teasing that EXO subjects him to (Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Sehun are the main culprits) he never loses his cool. He is very quick on his feet and can handle awkward situations/questions during interviews. He is probably mentally the strongest. He is the one that went to a music show award ceremony right after Kris left (in 2014) all by himself, to accept the award and sing their song because the rest of the members were too heartbroken to go. They tease him, but they really do love him and want his approval. He is really is the best leader I have seen so far in Kpop...

Because I feel Suho's guide is a little thin when it comes to things about him unrelated to EXO directly: - he has a dog named Byul (star) that he's had since before debut(?) - he's often associated with bunnies by EXO-Ls and even nicknamed Bunny Kingdom King (his fans call themselves bunny citizens^.^) - he's very invested in his physical health & diet, to the admiration & frustration of other members; the members take charge of trying to get him to break his very strict self-imposed diet often... - he's very geeky(as is most of EXO); he has a large collection of manga/books & action figures; when EXO did their collab with Star Wars the members pointed out that Suho owned already many of the action figures & toys in some photoshoots - he travels a lot; he's a learned traveler type where he reads about areas before he travels - he loves art; his solo album Self Portrait is designed around that & was even specifically released on van Gogh's birthday, one of his favorite artists - he is fluent in English (maybe now surpassed by Lay); he's also good enough in Mandarin/Chinese to help Sehun when he was teaching himself Mandarin (Sehun is now the most fluent in Mandarin outside Chinese members); Suho mentioned he studied in China during school - the guide briefly mentioned he's smart (btw that question? He was right^.^) but I believe both his parents are teachers/professors & they put demands for Suho to finish high school and enter college before his debut. This along with a rumored pretty bad injury as a trainee kept him supposedly from debuting with SHINee. The guide mentioned he trained for a long time but to put into perspective Suho's 6-7 years, most trainees quit if the don't debut after 3-4~ Suho's isn't just the longest trainee period in EXO, it's one of the longest in kpop. - two of his musicals (The Last Kiss & The Man Who Laughed) he auditioned for both leads around the same time, not thinking he'd get either let alone both~ both were some the biggest musical productions in South Korea at the time, and Suho went from learning & performing the first right into learning & performing the other right after while also doing EXO activities like a whole tour. [Slight tw~~~ both musicals dealt with some dark themes & events that sadly lined up with a loss of one of Suho's closest friends. I think he only missed one musical performance(?) & didn't do his Playboy solo stage for one concert(?) of the tour... Playboy means a lot to him. Jonghyun wrote it, and Suho said he always felt like he wished it was his. That's why he chose it for his solo stage for the ElyXiOn tour~~~]

Thank you for this info! I only became an L in 2021, have never witnessed a group comeback in real time ever, and am freaking about the comeback coming up this June(?) 2023. I was worried because it was announced that Suho is starring in another musical called Mozart soon, and it seems to be coinciding with Exo comeback. But it seems he has successfully juggled all of it before, what am I even worried for? It’s Suho, after all…. just when I think I’ve seen all the compilation videos and learned all the trivia possible, I learn new things from yt comments from legendary exo -Ls like you thank you ❤

Many say sehun is the glue of exo, but suho definitely is too. He is the one everyone can rely on or go to for advice, because exo members always say that they can rely on suho the most and everyone can talk about their worries the best with suho. vocalwise I also agree that he's somehow the glue. but tbh all members voices of exo add so much to each song. especially the lead vocalists like xiumin suho and kai. chanyeol and sehun sing more nowadays which I'm glad about! anyways I just love suho so so so much and I miss him like crazy so it was good to see this guide reaction 😣 he's still in military.. I hope you check out his title track "Let's Love" and Let's Love came with an album and all his sidetracks were performed (like "Made In You" which you wanted to check out) definitely do so! HE IS MY BIAS IN EXO YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I actually like him even before I liking Exo as I watched his drama (i am not a kdrama fan but while my sis was watching one I too went and watched it) I really loved him and then I realized he is a member of the group called Exo, in that the person who caught my eyes was obviously suho cuz I knew only him. But days pass and when I saw his videos and stuff to get to know him better I really, really, truly loved him, its rare cuz it's the first time I connected with an idol this much....Before he was the leader Former member kris Wu also said once how suho was the best leader out there. Exo really went through a rough journey with lots of ups and downs but I will say that suho really went through a lot more, cuz when he was the leader he had to go through one by one his members leaving from the group and still be strong to make his current members happy, he is a very underrated member in Exo, and I always jump around excitingly when someone talks good about him... I remember me thinking and wishing that all idols become like him when they enter award show cuz he just dance and support all artist dancing on the stage and I once remember watching a clip where he tried to calm his fans as Exo ls were crying cuz they, unfortunately, didn't win any awards, its really heartbreaking to see but I felt proud how suho was mature about this he is the backbone or the pillar of Exo and there are still many people who don't know how much he went through....exo's journey was hard and being the leader was even harder That's why I consider Suho as the best leader I have ever seen, not only through his speeches and his caring side towards Exo and exols, but also towards him being so strong over the years and always being so mature especially in his debut solo live after his promotions that he wanted us to not feel stressed about getting him wins, that was the time I truly cried, he was the first idol that I ever truly stan. Suho is the best leader In all kpop group 🥰🥰 He loves him member,exol,the staff.. everyone He came from a wealthy family thats why he pursue his career bcoz of his love to music. All of them dont really care about the ranking.. all they want is to serve us incredible musicality. Thank you for getting to know EXO and suho is one the greatest leaders of K-pop it hurts sometimes that he used to blame himself for other members leaving even though we the fans know it wasn't his fault at all and he used to get criticized for it a lot. But suho always show the haters you can't put him down and you can't take his group down either. There's something about EXO that Drew me to them way back in 2014 when I first heard overdose they became my favorite group all times in Kpop

I admire Suho so much because he's so good at being a leader and always does what needs to be done, no matter what, and despite how much provocation he gets from the other members - and they do wind him up a lot, especially about those awful 'dad' jokes. I see someone else mentioned the award ceremony that he went to alone. That really impressed me and showed just how dedicated to the band and EXO-Ls he was, and still is - I think all his speeches/interviews make that very clear. He's a brave and true-hearted man indeed, and incredibly handsome too. His solo album is without a doubt my favourite of those so far released by the individual members. His voice is just perfect for the type of songs he chose (and wrote) and washes over you like a warm hug. Every track is so good that I just can't decide which is my favourite. He did a live set of the whole album too, which is available on KZbin and is definitely worth watching.

Just out of interest, the 'School Oz' mentioned in the video relates to a 'hologram' musical that was released back in 2015, starring SM artists - TVXQ!'s Changmin, EXO's Suho & Xiumin, f(x)'s Luna, SHINee's Key, and Red Velvet's Seulgi. Sadly, I've been unable to find links or a copy of it anywhere as it seems it was only shown in their on-site theatre for a limited time. But the OST is available on streaming services and there is a playlist for it on here. There is actually a video too, which I think was a trailer for the film. It's a shame they never released the film itself, I'm sure fans would be interested in seeing it. Also, yes, I agree that black, curly-haired Xiumin is totally mesmerising but actually, every Xiumin is the best Xiumin - it's his eyes that really do it for me.

Suho’s fans are called bunny citizens 🐰😭💞 (cotton? bunny? get it?) His vocals are exceptionally stable. I agree he plays an important role in the vocal line. You commented about him mentioning EXO’s juniors at the award ceremony. There have been occasions when he asked people to give love to kpop, not just EXO. Hello, Rennari! Can I add some side notes to this guide? Eventhough I DO LOVE Cesar Oh's guides I find Suho's a little bit... needs of some info for the context. I mean - the moment where he speaks about rankings - it would be good to add some context - This is from his online fan meeting O2asis when his album was released. This was one of the first kpop online events and because of the popularity of EXO the media has claimed Suho as a pioneer in online fan meetings, even tv news made a reportage for the event. Also that part where he is with red hair and talks about the universe - this is very special moment for us, EXO and EXO-Ls. This was their last concert - NY Eve 2019. At that time the whole group already knew about Chen's situation, they knew that he will release a statement about his marriage soon, moreover - Junmyeon knew how the public in Korea will react. I am sure that with these words express his belief that EXO-L will continue to support the group whatever happens in near future. That was the personal message which I received. Maybe I am wrong, but I feel this. Also it would be good to be said. Junmyeon has trained more than 6 years and initially he had to debut with SHINee. But things happens - he's broken his leg very bad and he couldn't dance for more than a year, he took mainly vocal classes. In an interview he said that back then, in this period, he's felt very insecure while watching his friends debuting, but he didn't know when, with who or how he will debut. I hope you or other people don't find my comments rude or something, I wanted just to add some background so you to understand better what you watched. pp. The girl who mentioned BTS :) She is young actress Kim Hwan Hee and 2 years later she acted with Suho in the amazing art movie Student A, which I highly recommend.

I really really respect Suho so much not only as the Leader of EXO but as Kim Junmyeon himself. For me, he's like a personification of a prince. I wish people will know more about him. The guide did felt limited but I know EXO-Ls will share more here in the comment section about him. Suho's voice is definitely one of my favorites; it always feels like he's serenading and full of emotions. He had improved his vocals over the years and it got more stable and he was able to show it through his musical career. The Lead Vocalists (Suho, Xiumin, Lay, Kai) are very essential when it comes to choruses and harmonization. [Kai can be considered now as a Lead vocalist due to the fact that he got more singing parts and even got to sing the main vocalist parts when they're not present: he's an example of an idol who transitioned from being a rapper to vocalist though he still raps sometimes] Suho and Xiumin are definitely the back bone or pillars of EXO. They know how to handle the members. Suho practically raised them especially the maknaes: Kai and Sehun.

Suho was also the least member that got my attention back when i discovered EXO. I just couldnt remember his face or his name. And so i was surprised to know he was the leader because at that time, i felt like he didnt have enough charisma. But that was before. I know now that he has his own charisma. He may not take over the stage just as kai does or get noticed more for his vocals just as chen, baek and kyungsoo do but he is still such an important part of EXO for me. It was said that he was supposed to debut as a SHINEE member but was not able to thats why his trainee years were so long. But Im glad he became a part of another legendary group too. And for me, there's no one else more capable of being a leader in EXO but him, there's no one else who can handle such a crazy group 😅 his patience is BEYOND. Watching their vlives or interviews made me respect Suho more because his patience towards his chaotic groupmates is undeniable. He literally has 8 kids under his care. And he is just so professional just as you have said. And his solo album is just too beautiful for this world 😍 from the cover itself to the songs and his voice. It was really an art and a masterpiece ❤

@@Rennari I can connect to his music on a soul level. For me, feeling emotions through songs is very meaningful. The way Suho transfers emotions through music... There's no second artist who has made me feel this much. His voice brings peace and solace to my soul no matter how bad my day has been. If you notice exo songs, Suho might gets lesser lines but the lines that he gets are the ones which needs portrayal of emotions very much (in most cases). Not saying other EXO members are bad at it, but I just feel connected to Suho more. Not to mention he is so mature and dependable and gentlemanly. And his visuals !! A real life Disney prince. SUHO'S voice brought me into kpop. You will know what I mean once you listen to his solo album. Bdw, everyone in exo is my bias hahah, just that I love Suho a little bit more because of that. He might not have the most agile voice or the widest vocal range in EXO or he might not be the best dancer in the group, but his music means everything to me. I just love him so Damn much.

Fyi Rennari, Suho was supposed to debut with Shinee, a group who debuted before EXO but he got a knee injury and couldn't debut with them. All things worked together for good 'cause he became the leader of EXO. We respect him so much. EXOLs sometimes call him Eomma (mom) of 8 kids 😁❤️ And what you said about a kpop leader who acknowledge other groups in his speech.. same here. He was even interviewed in another country he visited (cant remember where but I think it was in Europe) he was asked how it feels to be recognized there as a kpop artist. He said he was so grateful to his hyungs or older groups who first introduced kpop internationally. And thanked everyone for appreciating kpop. He didnt take all the credit for EXO. He such a confident but humble leader to which his members does follow as good example.

Ahhhhhhh that makes sense since he was in training for so long. Wow, lucky he could get through the injury and still end up debuting with such a powerful group! Oh my gosh! That's even sweeter. Yes, I also liked that he acknowledged in that particular speech those who were sunbaenims and those who came after them. He's just got the right cadence to be a leader, I love it!

@@Rennari yes, and considering his members like to tease him, its even Baekhyun's way of showing affection to him. But he always has a smile on his handsome face. When Baek was so busy with SuperM, Suho sent him a message encouraging him to indure knowing its very tiring what Baek and Kai were doing. What he wrote was very touching yet Baek replied "hyung are you drunk?" 😂 But later revealed that Baek was touched but was awkward to say so. 😁 They are like real siblings ❤️ Thank God he got through that injury, right now he serves as a public service officer in the military bec of that knee injury. He gets to go home everyday after training but his mandatory service is 24 mons instead of 18 mons.

Some comments here are really too much.. I was one of the ones who suggested to @Cesar to include that professional critics say Suho would be main vocal of other groups. And there's nothing wrong with it and those people try to tell you he's a main vocal already like?? In 2019 VCR of EXO on their concert their official positions were shown and it says "Lead Vocalist" so people trying to tell you that you were misinformed here is nonsense and totally subjective. I just wanted to let you know that his official position is Lead Vocalist and if others see him as more then it's a personal view on it. I don't think the statement that he could be a main vocal in other groups is like shading him. Suho does not have the most powerful vocals and you heard it yourself his tone is very soft and sweet just like Xiumin's and that's why they are Lead Vocalists and not Main Vocalists. Sorry but I just couldn't believe what I just read.. No offense to you but to those people who think their opinion is more "right" than what SM Entertainment tells us.. I still loved your reaction as usual and Suho is literally an angel. Angellike personality, looks and voice.

I think the pain point wasn't that the guide was misleading about his role in the group (I'm the one that used the word misleading) but that he would be "potential for main vocalist if it wasn't for..." which I get can kinda sting. I get both sides. I mean the guide didn't say that in reference to any other members except for Suho, so it is interesting that they did choose to compare his vocals with the rest of the members but not Xiumin, Kai, etc. I get where you're coming from and their points as well but I also think at the end of the day that there is both a reason for and against even having those roles distinguished. Like it would be nice if they were all just singers or rappers, and even if someone got more/bigger/powerful parts they weren't designated "main vs lead" but I also get that these roles are usually clear to fans anyway, the more/bigger/powerful parts a person gets, fans are just going to start saying they're main vocalists anyway 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, no worries. I hope I don't offend you at all with this comment, I think it's an interesting discussion to have respectfully! 😊

@@Rennari There's a reason why Suho is called "Lead Vocal" or Chanyeol only "Vocalist" for example. Suho lacks power in his voice but still is very skilled and definitely more skilled than Kai or Xiumin who are also basically Lead Vocalists. So that's why critics say that Suho would be a Main vocal in other groups. Critics are professionals so I think they can judge this objectively & not say this just because of their position but also for the reason behind their positions and for their skills and experience.

I loved your reaction, suho is my ult bias and I love him to bits. But I do have to say that it really bugs me when ppl say that he could've been a main vocalist in another group but not in exo. It seems like such a backhanded compliment. Ppl need to appreciate him as a main vocalist now. Yes he was given the title of a lead vocalist when they debuted but that was ages ago. He has clearly improved by a large margin and should be recognized for it. He has proved his abilities time and time again with his solo works and his musicals. It hardly seems fair to exclude him from the main vocal line. I am saying this because I have noticed that ppl don't hype him enough in comments for his talent but only talk about him being a leader. I love him as a leader don't get me wrong but he is a singer before he is a leader. He deserves his recognition as well. Sorry for the rant, I'm just tired of ppl neglecting this extremely talented human being and just remembering him as a paternal figure to the other members. I really hope you can appreciate him similarly as well. PS: I know ppl will tell you he is the mom of the group but we suho fans hate that label on him because first, it's misgendering him, and second, it reduces him to a paternal figure and a caretaker. I hope you understand.

I thought I was the only one who hated this line : "he could easily be main vocalist in other group, but since Exo is something else in terms of vocals..." - I'd take anyone saying he is lead vocalist anytime over this backhanded compliment tbh. I don't really care about positions in the group since those can be bended and adjusted according to need (for example Suho or Kai singing D.O or Xiumin's lines when they were in the military, even though D.O is a main vocalist) (or Sehun dancing Kai's part with Laywhen Kai was injured).. but it irritates me to bits when someone says that about Suho. It's like saying "he is good but not comparable to other 3 main vocalists", and that to me is downgrading a talented artist like him and creating a comparison between members (which shouldn't be there in a group- where team work is the main factor to success)..Sorry for my rant, I really needed to vent out my frustration 😅

Suho has such good vocal abilities, we have seen him shine so much in the obsession album and when he took over kyungsoo and xiumin's parts. But it hurts me so much to see people ignoring his abilities because to them he is not the main vocalist so he is not that good. Whenever there is a talk about exo's vocals, he is never mentioned and when he is, ppl say the yeah sure he's good but he's not part of the 'big three'. Imagine working so hard for 15 years and still being neglected like this. If I was in his position, I know I couldn't have dealt with it the way he does. He really is the self-sacrificial king.
