'The Leaf' a ratty roadster, a prewar car build, part 5

welcome to part five of 'the leaf' a vintage car build on a budget,
I want to build a 1930's super reliable daily driver, I have a 1936 Austin 12 rolling frame , a 1927 to 1933 Lea Francis roadster dicky body and radiator and a 1800 cc Isuzu petrol engine with a 5 speed gearbox..hopefully this will be a very straight forward build and with luck shouldn't take too long, I will be documenting what this costs as we go along but needless to say I will be using INGENUITY OVER BUCKS....
this weeks objective is to weld up the internal frame i built previously and then re- fit the body securely, I also make the boot floor for the dickey seat.

Bryan. Once again loving your 'damn the torpedoes' build style. Dickey or Rumble? Had to search. So the interweb says... Dickey Seat in the UK. Inherited from horse-drawn carriages, where they were customarily occupied by servants or by guards on mail coaches. Rumble seats in the USA. When automakers started hiding bench seats in roadsters' trunks - which were situated right above noisy exhaust systems, which also caused a rumble. Now we all know.

This is a cool build!..I'm still partial to the 1st Rat but we'll see what this turns into..lol. Always wanted to do an Austin "chop top" with a Buick super charged V6..They came in their luxury boats and are quite cheap.. 👍👍👍🗽🇺🇸

I really enjoy the videos with the music, despite it not particularly being music I’d regularly listen to. Sorta goes hand in hand with the work going on. Anyway, I probably l should have waited and watched the second version…. I wonder which will get more views, will people watch the same video twice? As ever, neat fab skills! Do you ever treat the rust? I have used lanoguard recently - no affiliation - its good stuff. White vinegar for cleaning out rusty tanks! :-)
