That must have been a very long walk for a day. The elephant memorial is very close to the rail track. There were two railway stations in Teluk Intan (old name Teluk Anson), one near the present bus station and another near the wharf by the river. Sadly there is no longer train service to Teluk Intan. Even the rail tracks have been removed. The Teluk Intan Port was the main port for the State of Perak during the colonial days. There was considerable international shipping. The wharf could only handle one ship at a time. Some days you could see 2 or more ships anchored mid river, waiting for a turn to berth. Today, it just remains as fond memories of once glorious days. Somehow, the town has lost it's business, reduced to an almost sleepy existence.

A little bit of history about this town. It’s sitting next to a river and whenever there’s a heavy downpour during the monsoon or hig🎉h tide, part of the town would be flooded because of the river. Otherwise, this town has a few British missionary schools i.e. St Anthony, Convent and pretty laidback.

No floods when I was there, thank god!!! 🙂

Trivia : During the British protectorate and before 1982, Teluk Intan (Diamond Bay) was called Teluk Anson (Anson Bay), in honour of a British officer and last lieutenant-governor of Penang, Major-General Sir Archibald Edward Harbord Anson.

Kellie's castle near batu gajah and batu gajah town is also a nice stopover. Tbh, i just like most of perak towns (least favourite are the Negeri Sembilan ones)
@SilverfoxJB8 күн бұрын
I think Kellies castle is a no go for two reasons. It's a taxi ride to it (and back) and they charge you to go in. That will be a budget buster

I am from Negeri Sembilan. Go to the Linggi River and see the crocodlies. Port Dickson is favourite among KL city folks, KL on Sea. The food, daging salai masak lemak cili api is yummy as well as lemang and rendang.

Next town you can visit is kampar, then the forgotten town of papan with the tin mining history there. Once those are done along with pangkor if you could, ipoh is the place :) silverfox also recommend that area cause it's also history filled - old and new town
@SilverfoxJB8 күн бұрын
Pangkor? Really, I found it very disappointing (and dirty) but that was 15 years ago.
@iantravels24068 күн бұрын
@SilverfoxJB they have done a lot of improvements lately, but the jetty area on the mainland might still be a bit dirty due to the monsoon rains
@ashtriana18 күн бұрын
@@iantravels2406 there are two jetties now to Pangkor, one is in marina island and the old one is in lumut.... And it's much better now, cleaner than in the yester years, even at the island side is nice, maybe a bit smelly at the main town on the island as they make and sell dried fish, prawns etc

I don't think our viewers realise just how much money KZbin costs most creators. They only see the successful creators who earn big money. I have been at this for years and gone through so much equipment and many trips to make vlogs and I don't earn enough for a cup of Kopi a week. The return flight to England (and the associated costs) will cost far much more than the cost of a camera. (Osmo pocket 3 = about Rm2750 (about GB480) - Why not buy a cheap gimbal and use your IPhone? You can get a decent Gimbal for around RM100. And then replace the camera when it's more convenient. Regardless safe travels. I am in Muar for a couple of days and then Melaka. Take care buddy.

The income or rpm of Indonesian KZbinrs is much less than those of you who come from England.. you earn income based on KZbin rpm there and live at Southeast Asian costs.. 👍👍
@SilverfoxJB8 күн бұрын
@@larikesanasini Not true for me. I am based in Malaysia and there for my rpm is the same as locals except I don't have the tax benefit of being in Malaysia and as I don't pay tax or have any base in the UK (not enough income) my (tiny) youtube earnings are taxed by youtube in America and Ireland. Leaving me with a whole lot of nothing.
