My dying area is about the size of the area you’re using here. I have an old metal cookie sheet (my wife throwing out) with a piece of packing paper taped to it. I knocked a bottle of dye over while working. The pan’s lip kept the mess contained and I was able pour most of it back in the bottle. I hope this helps anyone watching.

Helpful video! I'd love to see a video demonstrating the use of dyes to change the color of leather that's already been dyed. This could a discussion of the drawbacks and problems with doing this as well as how to make a color change successful. What preparation must be done to the leather beforehand? What happens when changing from a dark color like black to a color like green or red?

Well, well Chuck this is the first video of your that I've came across. Little late but worth the wait, as is said. I recall you mentioning 🤔... to the effect; that the most frustrating thing about making the videos is, if the viewer is enjoying or getting anything for your video(s). Well being that this is the first video of yours I've watched, actually first 2 (re-watch). I just needed to share with you that I believe, no I know, I got more out of your video than you ever intended. Please keep making them. After the week I've had (I'm in OH, the ❄, 😕 need I say more lol) on top of the political mess and the pandemic. I reached my limit, I was so done, turn me over with a fork done. I'll never be able to express how enjoyable your videos indeed are. I watched Nikki video from 2 days ago (now I have that future project ideas running around in my head LOL). Basically, your channel gave me back two whole hours that 2020 tried to take and lol Mother Nature tried to bury in snow ❄ 🙄🌨🥴🌨🥺❄ 😷

Hi John, The only other way I know of is to paint in dye with a “Fan Brush” and brush from the edge inward so the edge gets the heavier dye and the interior gets less. It’s not a perfect way to go but it looks pretty good and I may thin the dye a bit too so you have a little more control. You’ll see some light brush strokes but with some practice, you can get it pretty even. Good luck with it!
