1966 was the greatest year for pop/rock, followed closely by 1965. It was an explosion of creativity.😎🎸✌️☮️

1966 -- The year of Garage and Garage/Psych. The world needed it then (as now).

Lots of people say 1967 but I'm with you, it's 1966 with 1965 a close second.

Terri Garr, Toni Basil and Ann Marshal dancing behind the band. This trio was the Wreckage Crew of gogo dancers in LA in the sixties, appearing in virtually every tv show and movie that needed hip energetic dancing

Did you learn this from Art Chantry? That's why I came to this video.

"Hey Joe" -- the version by The Leaves. Great tune. Great memories.

That Rickenbacher tone -- king tone. This tune is just one reason why 1966 is my favorite year for sound. I remember this tune very well. Thanks heavenlyblueorange!

Yeah, the Rickenbacker guitars, when combined with a good amp, really cut through. As Pete Townshend showed us all in 65 and 66.

I grew up with this attitude and WE need to return to it.

My recall is this would be the "single" version as the album cut isn't quite the same.

An anthem for that most crucial of musical movements. The Leaves' two LPs for Mira and Capitol are essential components of first generation garage rock.

So funkin" cool. I think their cover of "Hey Joe" is one of the best. Great West Coast garage. Thanks for the link to Tomorrow

@@heavenlyblueorange The Leaves are one of the first garage bands that I've ever heard of. I always thought their version of "Hey Joe" was spectacular. ☮️ bro

Killer group. Love their Hey Joe, so different than Hendrix's later slowed down, stony version. Almost proto-punk/grunge group.
