In this thought-provoking episode, Amy and Fleur sit down with Younes Sadaghiani, or @Younessrocks, a political influencer and former teacher originally from Iran. Younes shares his unique perspective on the impact of Islam on Iranian society, why the Left loves Islam, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and his admiration for former US President Donald Trump.

Bro I know so many Muslims in Iran and no, they are Muslims. Of course is the islamistic regime non islamic because out shia books say the opposite than what the regime say. There is no ,,Wali faqhi" as a replacement of imam zaman who can establish the sharia or the state because only the imam has the right and only imam zaman is able as an infallible to lead 100% correct. But yes, Sunnism is really terroristic because its them allowed to establish their false sharia. Alhamdulillah for having Muhammad and ale Muhammad as the light in the darkness of the life.

come on. That was the will of the people. Do you think that 100% of Iranian want it? Perhaps there is like 20% who don't like the system and 80% who love it. Like Iraq , we stupid west thought that we can liberate Iraqis from Saddam and they just got angry at the west. Same in Afghanistan. People of Iran managed to kick out Shah they should be able to kick out the current regime. It looks that there is no will at the moment.

@@jerryorange6983 i'm fact checking you when you say only 20% of Iranians who don't like the system. Recent data shows almost 50% of Iranians has apostasized. This shows they are fed up of the Islamic system and the cult itself. The main reason why Iranian regime hasn't fallen yet is because there's no mass revolution to topple the regime. They are careful to make any move for now because they are cautious. They also realize there must be a aftermath plan if the regime falls. For now they still don't have an alternative solution. Just look at what happened after the Arab Spring. All the Arab countries that effected by the revolution went through chaos and upside down aftermath. Another note, the Shah only fell when the Iranian army turned against him.

My first ever experience with Islam was with a Muslim friend I once had in elementary school, around after 9/11 happened, early 2000s, so at the age I never understood his ideology, but I knew he was Muslim because he was eating gummy worms, he was reading the ingredients as he was chewing on them, read gelatin and spat it out, kept spitting multiple times from my memory. And I was probably like in my mind as a kid, “Oh, he’s Muslim…” He was also the Muslim friend, the only Muslim friend I ever had in my life, who made terrorist bomb threats multiple times in elementary school on recess time, around 4th grade, that he was gonna go boom to scare me and my friend… this legitimately happened in elementary school, don’t know what happened to him after middle school, and this was in the US, so you could see how easily Muslims can be radicalized 👀 Imagine if zealous and devout Muslim kids like that out in the Middle East, or in heavily Islamic parts of Africa, who throughly read the Quran, the Hadith, read the violent verses, and something like 9/11 happen, then actually wanting to go jihad, carry out acts against the kafirs / disbelievers, and actually carrying out those terrorist bomb threats, etc. 👀

Yes! The west should learn to take in only those who recognize the preciousness of what has been achieved with western civilization, instead of bringing in those who hate it and seek to destroy it. Coincidentally, people from the second group are also the same type who persecutes the first group in their own countries, so only the first deserves our hospitality and kindness. Instead of this very simple and logical approach, people like a Yazidi survivor of ISIS was shut down in Canada (she was supposed to have a speech in a uni) so not to offend... who?? People who support ISIS? If that's not the case, then why aren't they on the Yazidi's side? And that's just one of the countless examples. Another one is the Afghan man who burned the Quran in Sweden, who has been threatened with deportation while jihad-lovers are allowed to fester. If there's something I really dislike about the west is this insane self deletion approach in favor of ideologies that are obviously far worse than what we have here.

Why does everyone presume that the US makes mistakes? Who put the Mullahs into power? Who gave Iraq to the Mullahs? Who trains and arms the Lebanese army, so Hezbollah? Who is trying to save Hamas? There is a definite patern. Not mistakes.

I agree with everything he says. But i think there could be a fourth reason the Iran president smashed in a helicopter: is that another force from within Iran was involved. Like either a force representing the people or someone else who would be a competitor to him and/ or the islamic republic

I was born in Iran. Moved to the U.K. in 1977, when I was 14 years old. I loved U.K. so much that it became far closer to my heart than Iran. I later moved to the U.S., and left a part of my heart in England. I completed college in the U.S. and started a successful life, and it is now home sweet home for me. I absolutely love America, but still think with passion about the U.K. I have visited England a number of times over the years, and every time I go back, it breaks my heart to see the country sinking in a mudslide. I hope English people will soon realize that, it is impossible to blend Islam in to the Western culture. Support the culture and country you live in, or move to a country and culture that you support.

Youness says things about the Shah rule in Iran which are not true. The Islamic revolution became the people's revolution because of economic turmoil during the Shah regime. Shah regime introduced so many economic controls that the economy stagnated and inflation was out of control (not unlike in Nixon's America). The Islamists used it to criticize the Shah regime on economic arguments. People listened, because they believed that Islamists would liberalize the economy and curb the inflation.

Wonderful discussion, I’m so glad I came across it! One point - from a military perspective, the U.S./ Britain cannot continue to execute top generals and strike the nuclear facilities. As Younes mentions, Iran is backed by Russia and China, both of which are our greatest threat and nuclear adversaries. When Trump carried out that strike on that general, the whole world was in uproar, even though none of us knew what kind of intelligence it was based on. I do wish it was possible to free people from oppressive regimes, but we have to figure out a way to do it without wars. Just my pov, but thank you for giving him a platform, love to hear people so knowledgeable and articulate, will be following him.
