When Laurie was getting her ultrasound, I knew somehow deep down that it was going to happen, but I refused to believe it. And then the look of confusion confirmed it. In TV I've seen people get blown up, get burnt alive, get decapitated, you name it - but that one look was more frightening than anything I've ever seen. That, my friends, is incredible production - to invoke so much emotion in the viewer with a closeup of an actor looking at a screen.

An incredible, realistic ride into pain, loss, and human emotions. Part of the beauty of this piece is it never really offers any answers, kinda similar to our bumpy, random, ride through our life in this world. Loved the ending. I'm a man and I watched this by myself and not ashamed to admit I cried I think 2-3 times. Cast and crew really knocked it out of the park. The directors perception is quite extraordinary.

I just had a thought watching this I know Kevin's dad has mental health issues like him, but... what if... the departure encouraged his delusions? Nora was with her family. The Garvey kids with classmates. Laurie was seeing her developing baby. Kevin was with a stranger he met off the street who just vanished into thin air. He didn't have to only wonder "where did my loved one or acquaintance go?". He has a hesitation, as if this mystery woman was a figment of his imagination the entire time. Like "did I just dream this desire to life for a minute?". I wonder if it was intentional to have Kevin questioning the existence of someone he just met, because he would end up doing so later on (even though his visions were of people he knew).

I believe the show didn’t get more acclaim because it goes so far over the head that people cannot make any sense of it and they overthink it and they feel discouraged…it’s definitely a mind bender. I believe it’s about Book of Revelation…many that were left behind believed their loved ones were in a better place and they were angry and it caused misery and many subconsciously begged for death. But instead they were left to be tormented and never know the truth… Revelation 9:6, KJV - “And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” And Kevin was the key for most of them because he ended their misery (He set Nora free when he told her to go be with her kids, ending Patties suffering and even killing his “twin” to prevent returning…and the twin represents duality, the good and evil in all of us. Anyone catch that Older Kevin developed a heart issue and had to get a pacemaker implant after he removed that key from behind his twins heart? So many layers to reading between the lines….and Scott Glenn was incredible!!

@tear drops (Spoiler alert if you haven't watched the last season) - for me, the scariest report of this was what happened to Grace's kids. When she didn't return home, they went looking for her. She got home and thought they'd departed so didn't look for them + they perished in the outback. Out of everything in the show, I think this broke my heart the most, imagine living with that regret for the rest of your life, it's beyond comprehension.

So if theres secular people out there wondering what this is based off of its a huge evangelical part of theology that started early last century called pretribulation premillenialism/dispensationalism and this is what they believe will bring on the 7 years of tribulation (3.5 years of tribulation then 3.5 years of even more severe tribulation) then armageddon. Its called the rapture, when Christ comes and brings all believers up to heaven. Theres a whole lot more to it than that but it is their eschatology (theological term for "end times.)"
@dionisoss18463 жыл бұрын
One of the main topic of the tv show is religions and between them, christianity... The Rapture theory is flushed away first season by the catholic priest character himself that denies the sanctity of some departured who were in fact criminals or people away from christian precepts... I think you did not see the show : you should.
