Klavski is so painfully bad at diplo i cringed everytime he started complaining. seriously when the two top scores are teamed up and obviously have the most map control why in the hell would anybody backstab, that would just result in all of them getting steamrolled. to backstab in that situation would basically be to forfeit and he's sitting there trying to tell people that's how theyre gonna win and getting pissy cuz theyre seeing through his BS

I have never played this game, and I have no interest in starting to play it. But for some reason I find these streams immensly interesting and have watched most of them. Though it was time to thank you for putting them up and to say keep up the good work. I am learning lots about build orders what units to use to counter what other units and the importance of timing your backstabs correctly. Some hilarious moments. Not to mention how elite Viper is. Personally I really enjoy watching those long drawn-out games because I feel like it gives the edge to those players that play the diplo correctly rather than setting up eco quick and efficient... If I wanted to watch eco-simulator I'd watch standard 1v1s or 2v2s

Between Blue Coffee's mind games, diplo intrigue (like T90 said, he'll backstab you in a second but also call for help if he's being attacked), and general spectator attitude (letting other people tear each other apart while he builds up his eco but tries to keep his score low to avoid accruing attention), he's a very dangerous opponent to ignore. Obviously everyone is trying to ultimately look after themselves, but Blue Coffee takes it a step further. He reminds me of when I play a game like EU4 and I send my subject nations in to do my fighting for me before annexing them. He doesn't even try to hide it, he's like the international general of other people's armies lol 11

Shorter trade routes seem way better to me. Yes, gold increases with distance, but so does travel time. When I look up studies people have done, it does not seem to add up to be worth it, such as "Just did a rudimentary test in the scenario editor, imperial age tradecart. >30 tiles 83 gold produced in 5:30 minutes >90 tiles 186 gold returned in 5:30 minutes" If so, that longer route in that test is making less gold, because the carts travel for 3x as long but only make 2.24x as much. Though I can't find any VIDEOS of tests, so I don't know if they were careful about, for example, making sure the last trip in that 5:30 didn't fall just short or something. Longer routes are also more susceptible to being destroyed by an enemy getting to one point, whereas 4 shorter routes are isolated like airlocks.
