Werdhi Sila Kumara Vocational School students participated in the Story Telling Competition with the title Legendan Nyi Roro Kidul represented by Sri Lestari
The following is a description of the story:
Kanjeng Ratu Roro Kidul or often known as Nyi Roro Kidul is a goddess from a Javanese fairy tale known as Ratu Pantai Selatan, (Pelabuhan Ratu). Once upon a time when Prabu Siliwangi ruled in the Pajajaran Kingdom, he had a beautiful empress and a number of 7 concubines. Once upon a time the empress gave birth to a beautiful daughter, even more so than her mother's beauty. She was named Putri Lara Kadita, which means Princess Beautiful and Beautiful. Princess Kadita's kindness and beauty caused the envy of the concubines who were afraid of being left out in front of King Siliwangi. They conspired to destroy the life of Princess Lara Kadita and her mother. Both of them were used to cause severe skin pain all over his body. Under the influence of witchcraft by the concubines, Prabu Siliwangi expelled the two of them from the palace because it was feared that they would bring havoc to the kingdom. In this condition, Princess Lara Kadita and her mother went aimlessly. It is said that the empress died in her wanderings, while Princess Lara Kadita continued to walk south until she finally arrived at a steep hill on Karanghawu Beach. Because she was very tired, Putri Lara Kadita took a break and then fell asleep. In her sleep, she dreamed that she met a "holy man" who advised the princess to purify herself by plunging into the sea to get healing, restore her beauty, and at the same time gain supernatural powers to repay the suffering she was experiencing. When she woke up, Princess Lara Kadita did not hesitate to jump off the cliff. steep into the middle of the rolling waves, and sink to the bottom of the South Sea. His dream came true. Besides recovering and returning to beauty, she also obtained supernatural powers and immortality. However, the princess had to remain in the South Sea. Since then she has been called Nyi Loro Kidul (which means loro = suffering, kidul = south), or the Queen of the Rulers of the South Seas.
