I’ve recently checked out The Eternal Night on GBA and thought it was pretty fun. The last level was kinda annoying, I still haven’t beat Gaul, and when I reloaded my game, the save file I thought was saved wasn’t, so I have to do all that again.

8:41 the earth and ice dungeons are pretty confusing BUT the overall combat has a lot of depth. You should play it until the end. Another problem in these dungeons is that when you die you respaw too far away and when you get to the actual boss you lost too much life. It has customisable options like turn off some breaths that You dont like or other ability. It has a training run that rewards you when you create longer combos and gives you some hints about how the combat system really works.

A 2d side scroller of Spyro sounds like a great idea. It could be just as fun as a Donkey kong Country game. But only if you can find smart developers that not only know how to code, but know how to design levels with high speed gameplay. Which all these handheld Spyro games appear to lack.

For Spyro Dawn of the Dragon on DS, you are supposed to have the health of the dragon you are playing on the bottom screen. Maybe it is a bug related to your emulator.

Well, at least you were able to survive till the end. Man, I really felt your pain as you played through these monotonous and uninspired games so that alone deserves an achievement in and of itself LOL It was a pleasure watching you review these games all to the end and you're one of the few reviewers who has reviewed every single Spyro and Crash game ever made so congrats! :D It's too bad that these games were executed so poorly, they really could've been a lot better if the developers put more time and planning into making the games instead of release them consecutively each year. With all that said, I'm curious to see what adventure you'll be going on next but I'm excited nonetheless. Keep up the awesome work!

Yeah it must be an emulator bug. In a long play video, a tutorial message said to "Press the L Button or to touch the stylus on the dragon portrait to swap dragons." I'm pretty sure that's an emulator bug if the game is referring to a HUD element that's not being rendered, especially if the first sign of voice acting in the game (12:24) was glitching out that hard.

That health and breath bar thing that happened in dawn of the dragon was actually a glitch on the emulator you were playing on, it does show how much you have left for the character you are playing as if you are playing on an actual ds or on a less glitchy emulator like the one I play on my phone.

C'mon, GBA Eternal Night is a quite good Metroidvania beat'em up. If you actually put effort in mastering the combat it's a nice game. Way better than the DS version imo

I do like the Legend of Spyro eternal Night on the DS. It is one of my favourites. Probably because it reminds me of the purple dragons previous days. I found it tough in Eternal Night to get past the Areana Level. In the DS Version, not a problem

To give credit to dawn of the dragon, when I played it there was a health and mana bar for the character playing on screen. I think it might be your emulator that has messed it up making them reversed, as there should be 2 separate ones for each screen.

I just saw a longplay of the DS game to verify this. On the Touch Screen there are indeed two bars for the current dragon's health and breath ability. Also, the tutorial claims you can switch between the dragons by using the L Button or by using the stylus to touch the dragon portrait. That tutorial message should be taken as a sign that the HUD elements weren't being displayed correctly in the emulator as on his game footage, there's no dragon portrait that shows on the Touch Screen to tap with the stylus. Earlier in the video he claims that the voice acting audio glitching out is an emulator bug, so if I were him I would guess a HUD element mentioned in the tutorial being missing is another emulator bug that affected the Touch Screen HUD, not a fault of the game.

I bought Eternal Night for the DS and too be honest I was kinda satisfied it’s not the best game out their but it was a pretty fun game at least for its price I got it for 17 bucks at GameStop it’s pretty much parkour with a dragon and kinda makes me feel like buying the Spyro remastered game but I understand why people wouldn’t like it when it first launched and why it may be a disgrace to the franchise but I don’t know that’s just my opinion
