The glamour design was fabulous. The only scary thing was the straight steering (crash killer) column in all classic cars.

By 59 DeSoto was powered by the"B block" wedge, not the Hemi.

Why don't you show a picture of the '56 Adventurer since you mention it so much? Typically, it was the Fireflite model which showcased the Hemi V8. You should have shown a picture of the push-button Powerflite 2-speed automatic which was so common in 1957 and later Desoto's. Desoto used the Powerflite more than any other Mopar. Maybe the cars you are showing are those which survived because of being equipped with the Torqueflite. But, the Powerflite 2-speed was the most common automatic found in a Desoto through 1961. What are you saying after you mention speed? Mpher?

You should not be talking about cars you know nothing about. First, you show a 1960 Adventurer which was a drug on the market, so much so that 1960 saw the end of DeSoto at Chrysler Corp. Only a few 1961 DeSotos ever saw daylight. DeSotos' price point and market position were the same as the Oldsmobile 98 and upper-line Mercurys. The 56 DeSoto had coil springs, cloth braided wiring, an oil bath air cleaner, and a vacuum tube radio. New for 57 the Torsion bars replaced the coil springs, new ball joints replaced the old-style kingpin suspension and the wiring was now vinyl-coated with plastic connectors. The radio worked with transistors and the air cleaner had new replaceable paper elements. The engine for 57 was the 345ci mated to a three-speed Torque Flight transmission that had been introduced at the end of the 56 model run. 58 saw the 361ci wedge head engine introduced at DeSoto as the Hemi was too expensive to manufacture. The 56s came with cloth upholstery and in 57, vinyl with cloth inserts was used on the interiors, I don't think leather was ever used in a DeSoto in the 1950s. The 58 DeSoto was offered with electronic fuel injection but the electronics were not shielded, so any electromagnetic interference like say a neon sign, the engine go crazy or shut down. 57 was one of DeSoto's best sales years and 1958-60 went down the toilet. The 1957 Chrysler line had been slated for 1960 but because of a change in Chrysler's marketing dept., were pushed up to 1957 and of course, the quality suffered. I know because I had a 57 Fireflite for 12 years, rattles as all, I loved it

Not matching photos with its topic is driving me nuts. The narrator talks about the front when all that is shown is pictures of the rear end, etc. This video easily could have been ten minutes or less. I quit watching before then end. It's just so repetitive. UGH! @MarinCipollina
