The Legend of the Enchanted Soldier

The Legend of the Enchanted Soldier is a fantasy story by the American writer Washington Irving (1783-1859), published in the 1851 edition of the anthology Tales of the Alhambra, which had not been included in the original 1832 version. This legend is about an old soldier from the time of the Catholic Monarchs, who appears only on the eve of St. John's Day because of a curse that was placed on him to guard a treasure of the Muslim Boabdil.
