To be honest, the good ending being showing the manual to the heir is the one thing I found kinda lame about this game, so your train of thought is perfectly understandable, lol. I'm glad Eric liked it though.

This game is fucked and I love it. It's cruel. It just does and doesn't tell you anything. It feels a bit like outer wilds mixed with zelda. But also I feel like I'm actually losing my mind. I'm genuinely too stupid to figure out so much. And I suck at the combat. But God have I loved what I have played

It's what I did. I also did all of the quarry without the mask, so at one hp. Did too much exploring so I did a lot of stuff backwards. I had the sound dampening card on for the whole game, I pretty much played stealth assassin fox.
@dantastic725 күн бұрын
@@aristizle8797 I did that too lol. I thought the bottom of the quarry was just a cool audio visual style and the game was forcing you into 1HP mode. I was all "woah man this is intense". I did all 3 gems before realizing what the tarot cards were and how to use them

From the type of games you choose, it seems like you really have the bug for these metroid-brainia games that outer wilds inspired. Great stuff, I love re-living these games through streamers. So good.
@EMLtheViewer4 ай бұрын
I would say that Tunic is more in the vein of FEZ than Outer Wilds, since FEZ is about collecting, finding secrets, and cracking codes (input sequences and ciphers) while Outer Wilds is more about raw discovery through exploration and putting together bits of information to gain the bigger picture. FEZ and Tunic are quite alike in many ways, really.

Man I love this art style. High quality lighting with low poly/low texture quality looks so good. And its timeless, it looks just as good today as it will in a decade. "I could do that the whole time!?" Sums up tunic perfectly. A second playthrough is wildly different than the first just from knowledge alone.

It's so funny seing people play the game in the intended route, because the game seems actually balanced for it. During my first playthrough I somehow went from the east forest to the quarry, then to the frogs domain (which I thought was a stealth section because I had yet to figure out offerings) and then back to the quarry before I finally went down to beneath the well and did the intended path.
@ShadowEclipse7779 ай бұрын
By offerings do you mean the Stat buffs?
@LepidoliteMica8 ай бұрын
Funny thing is, for all that all of those are out of order, the Frog's Domain actually is _balanced as_ a stealth section, though by the time most people reach it in the intended progression they have the equipment and stats to just bumrush it. That's the reason why there's a weird focus on patrol routes that doesn't really pop up in any other section; the frogs are specifically positioned such that there's a pacifist path through them all.

Wait me too lol! I'm still playing though. Game is a bit tricky to figure out sometimes but I love old zelda esque exploration and puzzles.

Man I just finished this game a couple days ago and I keep thinking about it. The golden path is probably going to be the most memorable puzzle I'll ever complete. I loved playing the game and I loved watching Crow play it as well. Thanks for making this supercut, it was lots of fun watching
@SupremeDP3 ай бұрын
The golden path was an absolutely AMAZING puzzle to figure out. The clues are in the pages you've been collecting all this time, it requires you figure out the holy cross in the first place, and it takes a good hour of hard investigation and note taking... IF you have all the pages. I did not expect Crow to engage in something that seems so out there and hard, but I guess the game does a great job getting you all invested in it so that you don't mind spending a BUNCH of time on it. Decoding the writing was the second best puzzle :U. Making it phonetic british english was an actual dick move though.

If you don’t like the combat, there are options in the settings to make it easier - there’s no penalty for using them, as far as I can tell

@fletch-a-sketch925010 ай бұрын
If the combat is too hard, you have a few options. There’s an infinite stamina mode that lets you shield and dodge as much as you want without penalty. Reduced difficulty cuts the amount of damage you take in half. And there’s a no fail mode that gives you infinite health. Don’t let the combat get in the way of the wonderful puzzles

You've probably done it by now but for anyone else reading this, Don't be afraid to use your "consumables"! You actually get a refill of them when you rest at the shrines depending on how many you've used total so far (that's what the numbers and >s on the items page mean).

@Demonancer4 ай бұрын
the one problem i have with this game is the lack of translation for the language. I think its a bit much to expect you to decode it yourself with pen and paper, and would have been better if there was an in game method of translating it as you figured it out, kind of like Chants of Sennar. Cause like, the casual gamer isn't going to be able to understand the dialogue of the ghosts and such, and thats very sad.
@Shelleloch2 ай бұрын
Not at all. "Trunic" as it's called is all actually just a different writing system of plain old English with each glyph containing usually a consonant-vowel pair, so when you're translating you straight up learn to read it quite quickly. And really learning the translation isn't _for_ the casual gamer since you can reach the true ending without doing so. Getting all the collectables only grants you a feeling of satisfaction and even more to decode, and that's if you even visit the trophy room. After that, it's wholly intended to be a community project since Tuneic is scattered absolutely everywhere. The casual player is going to just look up the translated manual themselves (which has been made by community members).
