Some people faulted this season for how much it deviated away from the original campaign. As for me, there are TWO reasons while the crew's decision to supposedly do this actually works. 1. With hundreds upon hundreds of hours worth of story, there was only so much that the CR crew could adapt into animated format. Therefore, cutting a few things out or shortening some events doesn't really surprise me. 2. With animation, they could bring to life certain character moments that I imagine even the team couldn't quite put into proper words while at the table. All the stuff happening with Keyleth in this episode is an example of what I mean
@juicejooosАй бұрын
Okay, but with all that little time, they could have just killed Ripley back at Glintshore since her surviving did nothing but give us...going around Stilben and stealthing into a dock for 10 minutes. There was absolutely no reason to keep her alive. If anything, her dying from everyone's hands with the song from Percy's death scene playing would have been way cooler than the death they gave her here. Also, we don't need to see Keyleth trying to cast Scrying for half an episode, sorry to be a hater.

Vax had a special belt that meant his daggers would return to him. In the campaign, he actually had two Vestiges, one of which was a dagger called Whisper, which gave him the ability to teleport to/through the dagger. I don't think we're going to see that in LoVM because they seem to want to only deal with one Vestige per character, combining several of their magic items and powers into a single item (Vax's super speed came from boots of haste). Though Season 4 could go in a different direction.
@edwinvanooijen7749Ай бұрын
SPOILERS for campaign 1 I mean Percy's Vestige is now on the bottom of the ocean so I have no idea what they are going to do with that. As for Whisper, that one is (I think) also tied to the Matron so maybe Vax, will still get it.

Ripley was notably blasted from it (you can see it fall) and as an Artifact level item, I presume it can't be destroyed (I know any magical item can't be in D&D, but I think the show plays by different rules in that regard) and could be picked up once the ship sank.

As the twins’ mother once said, “There is nothing stronger than love.” It’s what got Scanlan to wake up and reconcile with Kaylie, it’s what brought Vox Machina back together, and it’s what gave Keyleth the tether she needed to hold onto herself and find her target. Also, you gotta admit that that kiss was quite smooth. And Vax’s post-kiss catatonia was cute. Easily their best one this season. And with that, we’ve finally arrived.
