It was Pike that saved Grog. She had dark hair back when she met Grog, but then her hair changed color after a certain event (not sure if they'll adapt it later as a flashback, so I won't spoil it). Loving the reactions!

In my current campaign, I created a character with two happy and loving parents. By the fourth session, the DM had a party member murder my character's father in front of him. (Not railroading; he's just very good at getting us to make certain choices by withholding information until it hits the hardest.) My character's mother was kidnapped by racists, and I'm pretty sure when we find her, she'll probably be murdered, too. I figured this would happen in session zero, when I said, "I finally have a character with two happy parents!" and the DM responded, "Don't worry, I'll fix that." 😅

I mean. There is one dad in this campaign who doesn't quite know why he's like this and is _trying_ to be better, but I won't say any more about him since the show hasn't quite gotten to that plot point yet. I like knowing stuff from the stream. Makes me feel like I'm in on a big secret 😁

I'm really impressed with Grog's character development this season. He came across as just the comic relief dumb guy up to this point, and I'm so happy they brought in Kaylee. It's worth missing the werewolves in the feywild

The characters like Kevdak always get under my skin. A hypocrite who thinks he strong by beating into submission someone lesser while licking boots of someone bigger and meaner. If he was strong and brave as he thinks he would ask his men to fight Umbrasyl and force the beast to bring him goods. Instead old man past his prime relies on a magical toy to create seaming of strengh. Also loved the reversal of season 1 conversation between Grog and Pike. “What if I need you”

I swear, I`ve never shipped Pike and Scanlan before, but this show does things to me. They are so cute!! Grog and Pike`s relationship just... ascended to some another level. It`s one thing to hear the backstory narrated in the campaign, but to see it yourself... How Grog was protecting Wilhand and got beaten for it, and then saved by Pike. It`s some another level. Kaylie is my girl, I love her!

It was about a minute into the Scanlan interactions with that other gnome with the pinkish hair. Because I realised something and was like "Oh my go- I know who- she- it's her!" with my arms flailing about a little, haha. I know who she is, and now I'm all the more excited for the next few episodes when those who don't know, get to know what I know, y'know? Honorable mention: That part when pike gets smacked into a barrel by accident, make me laugh every time 🤣

Grog's origins mainly unchanged from the campaign, it just all happened out in the open, not at Wilhand's cabin. Dr. Dranzel was Scanlan's mentor in the stream. Pike's hair is naturally brunette, but when she died in the (home) campaign and was brought back in a resurrection ritual, her hair turned white. In the campaign, Scanlan's main instrument was a flute, like Kaylee, not the lute. No, remember, Earthbreaker Groon told Grog his strength DIDN'T come from his heart. Grog's finally on the right track, though. No death cliffhanger, at least.

I don’t know how it went in the stream, but I hope Grog somehow gets the gauntlets off of Kevdak and uses them against him, regaining his strength in the process. Or better yet, gets them off Kevdak and beats him without them, showing everyone that Kevdaks strength came from the Vestige, while Grog only used what he had. Only then is his strength restored, possibly by the Vestige.

@@MamasGeeky And honestly, the cliffhangers are a "Matt" callback too. He'd have a way of ending the game session at the EXACT MOMENT that the play group was waiting with bated breath to see what would happen next. One of the most enjoyable parts of each episode is watching everyone erupt in loud frustration as Matt says "and that's where we'll end it tonight." So the heavy cliffhangers you're experiencing? That's pure Critical Role.

The whole story of Vox machina is cliche. Group of 7 run around to find strong weapons of godly strength to defeat 5 dragons. Genuinly a story that's been told over and over. It's the characters that make this show so incredible.

I love how they didn't kill Grog and instead force him to rethink the source of his strength by weakening him physically. It's weird that he'd even attempt to challenge Kevdak alone in this state, but eh, it's not too bad imo. Also, Scanlan and Pike bonding while babysitting Grog is just adorable.
