The Legend of Young's Restaurant in Akron, Ohio. ( Haunted Akron episode #3 )

Well, we finally made it back to Ohio and our first video since being back, I decided to take you to a restaurant I once worked at when I was a teenager. This place was at one time, a very historic Restaurant and Hotel that surprisingly, was torn down. I did a small spirit box session that did not disappoint however, did the spirit of someone who recently was killed near the site come through? You be the judge! The Legend of Young's Restaurant.

I agree with you. Young's was a historic landmark. It was there when travelers got off the canal boats across the street. They probably couldn't find anyone to buy it and renovate. Sad that it is gone.

I remember that restaurant well. I was a kid and I and my parents went there for dinner many times when we would visit family in the city of Akron. The last time I went there was in 1987 before i went into the Military. Haven't been to that city since but i think I'm gonna go back and visit there now that I'm married and my kids just graduated from college and are now Doctors and Lawyers. Wow! Very interesting report. I agree with the commenter who said they should have made it an historic landmark - not just tear down the restaurant. We left the Akron area back in 1978, but back in the 1950s and 1960s my folks would occasionally take us out for dinner at Young's. Always a nice place. Sorry to hear it is gone now.

Hi Eddie and Jenn! My father grew up in Portsmouth Ohio. After high school he came up to Michigan to get work in auto factories. Then he met my mom and during WW2 they eloped. We traveled back to Ohio every year to visit grandparents. My dad died in 91 and is buried in a HAUNTED cemetery in Portsmouth! I know it's haunted because when I went there to visit in my late 20s I couldn't find my dad's headstone. I asked for him to stop the car when I got to him. Sure enough as I approached the family grave my car stalled and shut off! This didn't scare me at all it only warmed my heart and made me feel welcomed! I'd love for you to go there, I'd have to ask my siblings the name of the cemetery as I don't know, i just know how to drive there lol. I miss my daddy so much. I was 22 when he passed and I am now 51. Thanks for listening to my story! Blessings to you and your family.

Thank you for sharing this video. I moved to Florida from Akron in 1998. I have only been back once in 2002 for my mothers memorial. This part of Akron was my old stomping grounds as a teenager and young adult. In 1975, I was a runaway and my friends decided that they were going to do a dine and dash at the restaurant across the street from Young's at the time. I think it was a Denny's or Perkins pancake. I didn't want to dine and dash so I sat in the car because I didn't want to get in trouble. Our car was parked in Young's parking lot. As I sat in the car I kept thinking I just need to start walking down the road. I had a bad feeling about the whole situation. I remained in the car and when they returned we pulled out of Young's parking lot and immediately there was a police car behind us. BUSTED! I should have went for a walk. :) I also noticed across the lake where all of the beautiful trees are is where my sister and I would hang out to smoke when we would go to the VFW cookouts. There's another part on Nesmith Lake where they had dances at Hiloma. Live bands would play there I think on Friday nights. I noticed the apartments where a friend of mine lived and we used to have a lot of parties right on the beach. This video really brings back lots of memories. Thank you :) HUGS & God Bless You! I was so happy to read this. I remember the afternoon banquets they use to have for the Goodyear Tire workers. They were called "Turkeyfoot Lake Corn Roast". I remember the Denny's that sat across the street too. I'm so glad this video brought u joy and as for the spirits following me home, nah, been doing this for the past 30 years and I continue to cleanse myself with the Spirit of God, along with some Holy Water and Sage! A Spirit Box basically scans about 100 radio frequency. What we listen to is the white noise cause in the white noise is what the spirits speak through. When we get home, we do a lot of playback to listen for any words or symbols that come through that we don't hear with our own ears. God bless u and ur wonderful daughter. 🤗❤🙏

My mom worked there in the early 70's,the place was amazing! I remember the toy chest if you was good you got to pick a toy out...it was a Summit county landmark but hay too many Dems 4 too long we don't restore things we level them and rather build stupid circle bouts for 4.3 million and repaint roads so if 🌨️ you might get hit easier because in Akron we fix what wasn't broke and do nothing that we really need like road repairs..

hi...you must of left as i came... i think i worked as a waitress 1983 for couple years.... definetly haunted.... for a while someone kept saying my name... different days ...areas... times... and i got to the point i quit turning around to see who was calling me lol untill someone actually was and i figured it was the ghost .... happened to a bus boy too.... i always wondered what happened to the spirits that were there when they tore it down..... a place i work now i hear conversations but nobody around... cant make out what they are saying but i hear it

I knew it was haunted too, but at that time, I really had no way to document like I do now. That's 1 of the reasons I got involved into the paranormal, because of Young's. I went to high school with ne of the sons whose family owned Youngs. They were nice people. I was sorry to see Youngs closed and I am like you why did they not make it a historical landmark. If you want a very good place for spirit box sessions I have had good luck at Greenlawn Cemetery over by where Rolling Acres used to be.
