Illumination is NEVER going to take Zelda seriously...

Considering Nintendo had to intervene to keep the Super Mario Bros movie from being "girlboss Peach and her goofy sidekick, Mario", I'm inclined to agree

Fun fact: the game creator of Zelda was heavily influenced by Ridley Scott’s Legend with Tom Cruise
@jamesbrice326722 күн бұрын
I noticed the similarities.
@pex_the_unalivedrunk678521 күн бұрын
Yeah, Tom Cruise's character definitely had some Link vibes going on, among other similarities in the two. I have been toying around with making The Legend of Zelda as a live action film movie trailer video for a few years now...but with a twist...it will be a Spaghetti Western style.

I haven’t found any statements by Myamoto to confirm this. The original game was being developed in 1985, the exact year Legend came out, too close for “inspiration”. He did say that he was inspired by western fantasy and exploring forests and caves as a child in Japan.
@nickmattio339720 күн бұрын
@@SpaceJockey805 well just look at release dates and when Legend started into production because it came out in 1985, a lot higher probability he Myamoto was inspired with what he saw than Ridley taking inspiration from Miyamoto that early on so and Zelda NES came out early February 1986 and Legend in April after

If they did a Zelda film trilogy and applied the same passion, effort and vision, as Jackson did with the original LOTR trilogy. We could have an epic, fantasy epic series for a new generation. The lore is deep and rich, the characters are iconic and the scale is enormous. The Zelda series deserves to have a successful film franchise.
@karlhendrikse13 күн бұрын
Why? We already have that series. They are video games.
@kh768813 күн бұрын
@@karlhendrikse Not everyone plays video games and certainly not RPG's that take a hundred hours to complete. For those who have never experienced Zelda in video game form. It would be great if they could experience in the cinema.
