There's Gentoo Linux, typically you go through kernel compiling and, I suppose, the kernel settings were adapted for the PS4 in the builds on the net

​@@drd5455 why? I could understand the drivers for the APU, but that's not a build. Still, yeah, one could use custom kernels, but as far as the OS is concerned, you can't do too much, since the instruction sets are the same; the games themselves should be optimized instead, but nowadays everything runs API-wise and that's not exactly an option. Still, AMD could do something nice with the drivers lol. Another good thing would be an actual boot to GNU/Linux instead of using payloads, as they produce overhead (that would be a dream :3 just converting a ps4 100% into a computer)

the average cpu is 45-50 = 15-20 fps, if somehow the emulator managed to use 100% constant cpu, we would probably get a stable 30 fps...

Thats all cores… The CPU% counts threads as well. Those aren’t real cores.

Honestly, I'd tolerate the bit of lag and audio stutters to play it this way. I'm definitely not buying a 500$ console so I can play the only game on that I'm interested in, so ill definitely give this a go when I jailbreak my ps4.

Yes they do. It depends though. Check out Itmania on KZbin Gta 4 is possible, 60 ish fps.

@@makandalp it depends based on the game due to FPS or you actually get random lag spikes? Latency is quite important to me tbh, more than FPS since I can just tune the latter Also it's very impressive that GTA IV runs at even more than 30FPS, that game port is HORRIBLE Thanks btw

You have to download the game and the emulator yourself, and as for Linux it's just a payload you run so it's not permanent

Sus af. Loading screens are dreadful to watch, that sound glitch and fps stilting is terrible and it just does not seem right. Looks like there is still lots of work to do for this to be enjoyable while playing. Maybe just get a Nintendo console.....
