Probably my favorite incarnation of Ganondorf because just like Link, he’s been given a lot more personality than just “i’m evil and i want hyrule heh heh heh”. This Ganondorf had a lot more time to reflect on what he did. He got a bit more backstory. He even refused to kill Link and Zelda as he only needed their triforce pieces. And after his wish was stolen, he had nothing left to lose. He knew that he was going to die. So in a last ditch effort he tries to take Link and Zelda with him.

My county lay within a vast desert. When the Sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. Are we forgetting that he killed the 2 sages that gave the Master Sword its power, and that he kidnapped innocent children to find the Triforce of Wisdom?
@macnamaryb7773 Жыл бұрын
@@AkameGaKillfan777 well, yes he did. However, those were "necessary" acts to further his plan. Obviously, if the sages are powering the Master Sword, then Ganondorf is at the mercy of a blade that has defeated him before in OoT, and he's not going to let that stand. As for the children, sure, you could argue that he could just release them, but 1. I believe he feeds them to Helmaroc, which is likely how he keeps a leash on it, and 2. secrecy is important to him. If these random girls were constantly getting snatched up and dropped off, Helmarocs travel time would likely make it easier to trace to the fortress, never mind that the captives would have seen the defenses and, hypothetically, be able to plan around them. Yes, Ganondorf could move around the defenses of his Moblin patrols, but the searchlights are pretty set in stone. Not to mention, if he were to shuffle patrols for every girl, then he would spend more time reorganizing the defense of his fortress than actually pursuing the Triforce. As seen with Link and Zelda, Ganondorf clearly no longer derides pleasure from killing, and only does so in instances of the greatest importance or to maintain his weakened presence in the world. When Ganondorf snaps at the end of the game, that is his reawakening of his sadism because there is nothing left for him to do before he dies anyway, so may as well indulge in some good old fashioned blood sport.
@thefatass500 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, this whole battle at the end was nothing more than a temper tantrum. I mean, Ganondorf already failed at this point, thanks to Daphnes a short moment ago; what did he have to gain from defeating Link in terms of his goal, other than "if I die, I'm taking you with me!"?
@Nyzer_ Жыл бұрын
@@macnamaryb7773 There's nothing that states he feeds the kids to the Helmaroc... rather, there are three kids in the cage when the player arrives, one of them being Aryll. It seems that upon discovering that the kids were not Zelda, he didn't return them, but kept them alive and unharmed.

What makes this fight so intense is the stakes. With the other Ganon/Ganondorf fights it’s always the fate of Hyrule or the world is in the balance, but in the game, Hyrule is already gone. So instead of Link fighting Ganondorf to save Hyrule, Link is fighting him to save your own life. He’s done with everything, he’s practically given up on life, and if he’s going out, he’s going to take Link and Zelda with him as well. That’s what makes this battle so great.

And ganondorf is just trying to hold on to the legend of hyrule but in the end everything including the master sword, hyrulean shield, the land of hyrule as we know it. None of it comes back. I freaking love this final boss I mean think about it you’re fighting against Ganondorf in the used to be Hyrule that’s been flooded by the three golden goddesses and only you, and Toon Zelda has to stop him once and for all, and while you’re fighting against him the downpour of the oceans above you is falling down onto Ganon’s Tower of his!
@Haech-E-doubLe-hoLckeystix4 жыл бұрын
The best fight in the game, second best track in my opinion. This guy literally fights you underwater as the water constantly falls in a barrier around you as you try to deflect arrows of the very gods themselves at them. The music really sets the tone of the fight too, (what not 2:58-3:22) but TBOTW just steps on it...**sigh**

Definitely fits. You can still hear echoes of the Ganon we all know, but it's more desperate, more fast-paced, and way more aggressive. He knows full well he's lost, and at this point he just wants to drag you all down to the depths with him. Nothing is scarier nor more dangerous than one who has lost everything. Also can I just say how annoying it is to land the parry attack from his jumping slash? You've got to be deliberately far away from him or your roll will carry you right past him for some reason.

One of the best final boss fights ever. A sword fight against a man who gives everything to prevent a wish, around a circular floor fulling of water slowly. That's pretty awesome!
@GreyWolfLeaderTW2 жыл бұрын
Ocarina of Time's final battle is still my favorite for its epic, cinematic, and mythological scale and style, but Wind Waker comes in a very close second (with all the other final battles trailing by a fairly wide margin). This is the most personal the conflict between Link and Ganondorf has ever been, given it was kicked off by Ganondorf sending his pet Helmaroc King to kidnap Tetra and Link's sister and then he personally confronts Ganondorf over it at the Forsaken Fortress. Now with water raining from above, drowning the land Ganondorf had coveted, you can feel the intense and bitter venom of a battle with a man that has lost everything he has sought to obtain. It also ends in one of the most spectacular final blows of the series, a plunging-from-above stab right to the head.

+Darkai Sixta To be fair though, Hero Mode is a good first step and the Ganondorf Amiibo+HM in TP HD is a good second step. I'm thinking Breath of the Wild's healing and weapon+shield durability can be taken as a third since one can no longer just go to a store to heal or use weapons and shields haphazardly.

Honestly, I really enjoyed this fight because of how hard it was compared to most of your other battles in the game. It's 2v1 and you're still on the back foot in this fight. Ganondorf blocks almost all of your attacks coming at him, and the Back Strike reaction attack is almost useless because he steps forward with his attacks moving out of range of your counter. He knocks out Tetra half way through the fight forcing you to need to find a way through his guard so she can't stun him for you anymore. Once Zelda does recover he dodges her Light Arrows effortlessly, even while he's blocking your attacks... Excuse me, I'm gonna go load up my old Wind Waker file real quick.

I always imagined 0:45 as the voice of the gods, highlighting how they've done all they could in this situation (technically with the Triforce's wish) but are still secretly cheering Link and Zelda on. However, the melody of the song descends, showing that while they cheer him on, the situation is dire. And there will be no Round 2.

Question for people: when you think of Ganondorf and fighting him, which of his many battle themes is the first one to come to your head? For me, it's always the final battle from Twilight Princess. It wasn't the first Zelda game I played, I've done a lot of them and heard their themes before I played TP, but for some reason if Ganondorf is brought up, it's ALWAYS that one I think of first (followed by the Ganon fight from OoT)

To an extent... The boss fight is extremely short compared to most Ganondorf battles and build-ups but it`s still quite challenging at a 1st try. Ganondorf is extremely fast and his combo`s do alot of damage if you`re not careful, not to mention that Ganondorf will sometimes trick you into coming to zelda`s line of fire being jumping away, leaving you paralyzed and vulnerable.

Not only is he a big ganon without even needing to be brute of buff, you as link are a child so he is like 5x taller than you. And STILL this man can jump so high and do backflips with no hesitation. The only thing that wasn't good about this fight was the pile of shit they forgot to add to links pants.

I have to be honest - I’m not the biggest fan of Wind Waker. It’s still a great game, but for me it’s the weakest of the mainline 3D Zelda titles. I did not care for the sea travel, found the world to be really quite barren and uninteresting and didn’t find many of the dungeons or bosses to be memorable. That said, this finale is one of the best Nintendo have ever made. It’s truly unique in the sense that Ganondorf has already failed before the battle even begins. So instead of fighting against a relentless evil force to determine the fate of the world, you’re actually faced with something much more terrifying: A lunatic with nothing left to lose. A no holds barred scrap to the death out of spite for his failure. Ganondorf isn’t fighting to win anymore - he’s fighting with the sole intent of cold blooded murder. To murder those that ruined his plans of conquest. It’s absolutely brilliant.
@AxisChurchDevotee Жыл бұрын
Interesting thought but this doesn't go with how the fight itself goes seeing as Ganondorf doesn't kill Tetra and instead knocks her unconscious which gives the impression Ganondorf isn't really trying to win.
@rosePetrichor Жыл бұрын
Ganondorf didn't even want to kill Link and Zelda before he was defeated. He just wanted the Triforce and to rule over Hyrule. And in this version, you can kind of understand why! He was king of a harsh desert land.
