Otis is everything!!!...I met the group in the hotel lobby...so I introduced myself to Otis and asked him if I could take a pic of him and the rest of the group and he said sure. Seconds later he asked me to get in the picture and I told him that I would love to get in the pic....however ..I dont have anyone to take the pic...so Otis grabbed my camera and went to find someone to take a photo of all of us....that was very nice of him

Not to mention an iconic TV movie/miniseries that is _still_ watched and beloved 20 years after it first premiered on TV? Not enough words to describe Mr. Williams' and what he and five other guys (Dennis, David, Melvin, Eddie and Paul) did not only for male R&B groups that will follow, but the music industry and the genres within that borrow a little bit of the sound that this group injected. I only wish I was brought up during that era. The eras of Motown and Stax just to name a few and the artists that _truly_ revolutionized music completely. @@H4wgBEright I was a part of the group about a year before YOU joined. Lol. The "Temptations" movie is based on Otis Williams' book by the same name. The book was written years before the movie. I revisit it often. Nowhere is that line mentioned by David Ruffin in the book. I have also read other Temptations, and Motown biographies. I have been following the Temptations since I was a small child. I am also a singer/musician myself, which explains my passion for the Temptations legacy. I've also read, and compared conflicting sources of information about the group's history. Otis Williams himself said that the movie producers changed a lot of the story line, which he had no control over. Otis did not write the movie script. A TRUE Temps fan knows the real group details, not just the superficial "common knowledge stuff". Whereas I love the "Temptations" movie, hardcore fans know that a lot of the depictions are very inaccurate. I"m sure David made some ego based comments while with the Temps, but that line was obviously part of the dramatic script. Latter day Temptations fans tend to base their knowledge of the group from the movie, and then insist that they are correct. Here's something to think about. Without spending too much more time, I will say this. Unlike the movie depiction, Al Bryant did not record solos for the group. His altercation with Paul, and subsequent dismissal are inaccurate. Also, the movie. overemphasizes Paul's alcoholism as his reason for leaving the group, and never mentions his illness from sickle cell anemia. Therefore, some people watch the KZbin videos exoecting to see Paul drunk, or out of character. Then they start imagining things. Even the death of Paul Williams is shrouded in mystery. If you want to know, research the coroner's report. Feel free to ask me more. Until then, Check it Out! Ciao!!!
