I had a 86 for 10 years. In 1993 I went into a dirt bike shop in Slave lake alberta. They had a 86 CR 500 leaning on the wall looking dejected. I had shorts on and was wearing beach shoes. The guy behind the counter said" if you can start that bike in that attire you can have it for the weekend. I layer her down let the juice flow. And fired it first kick. They all looked at me like a God. And I had a good run on that bike.

I have a bone stock 1986 CR500 that runs like a Champ! Starts 2nd or 3rs kick always. I've had Many offers to buy it but I just can't let er go. Now seeing that they can bring over 10 grand restored, I'm SO happy I still have her!!! Ontario Canada

My favorite bike of all time. My son and I picked one up about 5 years ago and would love to display it in my living room but the wife would not be a happy camper lol. It is not near the perfection like this one is. You guys are blessed to ride these Honda rockets. Keep up the great work guys.

I absolutely love the 1980's Hondas. You guys do great work, and have a knack of finding some gems. If I could change one thing I would keep the factory colored number plates. Just seeing a Red Honda with black plates instantly says "Johnny O". And the yellow on the 500 screams "Open Class Monster". Nothing wrong with Red White and Blue, but from a distance, my mind just automatically says 250. Just my 2 cents. Ride RED!

That spacer plate and long rod crank motor setup works!! I've had several Honda trx 250r,s that used an 88 or 89 crank and connecting rod with a 86 cylinder( stock bore ) and 86 piston. And a 4mm spacer plate between the bottom end and cylinder. Also the thinner 85 OEM atc 250r head gasket and curtis sparks national porting. They effectively made a 265 that would rrrip your shoulders out of socket lol or your house off the foundation lol. Love it Ken keep it up!! Cheers from Pennsylvania👍👍👍

Hahaha, my mates call me nuts and bolts , most recent I came off my 17 yz450f which resulted in a dynamic hip screw which failed and was replaced with a full hip replacement and you guessed it I'm back on it like nothing happened but she's up for sale to be replaced with a 21 yz450fx... my knees are fucked and electric start is going to be a god send.... stay safe 🇦🇺🤙

Same as the blaster just like you said, Liquid cooled, electric power valve, electric countershaft balancer and a few other Nic nacs like the tachometer and speedometer
