I worked for John in the 80s. Went to school with his kids. They lived across the street from me.

Tucker, Ike, Wow! Tuthill here, I and Peff Eick, Tom Constable were the first ones to surf Little Draks. We named it, Crumple Car. There was an old Dodge on the beach that was a complete wreck. Bob Cooper said no one had ever surfed it till we did. Coop was a ranch expert at the time. Great to see this piece. Still surfing and Alpine snowboarding. The best to you guys. Tim

I surfed the ranch from 1969 to 1985. I know every inch. launch the boat from Gaviota first comes Razer blades. Bite off what you can chew.I did surf it at 6 to 7 feet. San Agastean at 4ft and Cojo at 4 to 8ft. Does anyone remember Stanley's? Just south.

We would launch a boat at Gaviota pier...usually tried for Rights and Lefts unless occupied by ranchers..Surfed Stanley's when I got out of the service in the late 1960's, then went back a year later and there was a freeway ramp on top of it + WTF

If Eichert took off and got launched at Little Drakes and did a "Pearl Dive", the urchins hadn't taken over that reef yet ! Do a "Pearl Dive" now and use your hands to push off the bottom and your hands will be a mess. (Like my arse after bouncing off the reef at Chinese Harbor one winter)
