Oh yeah, this movie is VERY fast-paced and encourages multiple viewings because there are SO...MANY...references. This is clearly made by a group of creative people who know a lot about Batman and actually understood the deeper meanings of Batman's character that even the live action Batman movies haven't covered. The humor is great! I love the over-the-top action and jokes. Also YES on The Batman Movie (1966) AND the first two Batman movies! They are all great for different reasons! Would recommend.

This movie has a special place in my heart, not because of the movie itself, but because one of my best memories is from when I went to watch this movie in theater. While waiting in the main hall of the movie theater, I met one of my previous teacher that left my school less than a month before. Even after almost 4,5 years, she's still one of my all time favorite teachers I even got, and the majority of her students will probably say the same thing. She's also the teacher I saw the most outside of my school. It was the second to last time I saw her.

This film was released in theaters on my birthday, and my wonderful husband had gotten tickets because he knew I was super hyped for it. I loved the character in The Lego Movie and this looked like it was going to be (and was) a good "fan service" film. The topper though is my nickname at work is Batman.

If you two didn't know; Billy D. Willianms is also in this film as the voice of Two-Face. The Really Big Importance here is; when Billy D played Harry Dent in Tim Burton's Batman, he was supposed to repise his role to play Two-Face in an upcoming film. However; Burton was replaced, Keaton left the project, and Two-Face was recast with Tommy Lee Jones. So this film bringsback Billy D as Dent/Two-Face from Burton's Batman. Something; fans really wanted to see!

I absolutely ENJOYED THIS MOVIE. This was my first real exposure to batman. I did see the lego movie and he was in there but I didn't know him as a character. I actually didn't like or enjoy the lego movie. I don't think the movie was my taste, but THIS I enjoyed it WAY more than I thought I would. I even chuckled a few times and had a dumb smile on my face.I did think what they were trying to do between Joker and Batman was kind of weird, but after I saw some if the batman movies I kinda get it I would entirely recommend you guys check out..... hear me out, BATMAN VS THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES! Great choice! This movie is way better than most of the DCEU films these days(especially better than Snyder's films.) So many great references to DC stuff(Ferris Air, which we see during the transition to the Fortress of Solitude, is the company for test piloting that Hal Jordan/Green Lantern works for. Bat Shark Repellent was used in "Batman:The Movie"with Adam West, etc;) The villains listed are all real(well, except Condiment King, who's from the "Batman Animated Series"(and was a man mind controlled into being a villain by the Joker.) Crime Alley was actually the name of the area where Batman's parents were shot(real name was Park Row, but became Crime Alley to most of the people living there.) Billy Dee Williams voicing Two Face is playing on the fact that in the original Batman movie by Tim Burton, he had played Harvey Dent(though never got to play Two Face, given the fact the movies went over to Joel Schumaker.) The "I did something!" is a reference to Killer Croc from "Suicide Squad"(not its much better sequel)doing absolutely nothing for the entire film until the end, where his ability to breathe underwater allows him to go and shut off a bomb...or something. I sort of forgot. It's true, in the comic tie in to a video game("Injustice:Year One"), after Superman loses it, kills the Joker(after the Joker tricks him into killing Lois and his unborn child using the Scarecrows fear toxin)and outs Batman as Bruce Wayne, Alfred takes a pill that increases his strength and speed(its what the human characters in the game use as well to put them on the same strength scale as Kryptonians)and beats the crap out of Superman, breaking his nose. He is later killed by Mr.Zsasz, but he went toe to toe with Supes. Lmao, the Kraken's reaction to blasting Sauron's eye, then slipping away slowly, XD! "Nothing to see...." Zoe Kravitz voices Catwoman in this. She's now playing Catwoman in "The Batman", which I think is hilarious. If she doesn't prefix everything with "Meow meow.", I'll be disappointed.

I love this movie exist at the time The Batman. Both two extreme end of spectrum in Batman stories. One is fast paced and absolutely funny. Another is so dark, serious and has deliberate pacing. One of the things i like most about this movie it that "You mean nothing to me" speach Bats gives Joker at the begining would legit break every version of Joker that exists. Joker has no purpose without the bat, and to hear that that feeling isn't shared would just push him into a depression spiral.

Where is The Penny Plunderer?! *THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT VILLIAN!* (Edit): FUN FACT! While the The LEGO Batman Movie Robin is the Dick Grayson one, the design seems influenced by the very conservative Batman comics with the Carrie Kelley Robin. The difference is instead of putting a schoolgirl in that outfit, they put an orphan boy in that outfit, and gave the movie a non homophobically queer coded villain. (Edit): They made Alfred look like Kato from The Green Hornet in the end bit. Also while I liked the movie, apparently alot of Green Hornet Fans didn't, so perhaps I shouldn't recommend it, but I personally wouldn't complain much if you both watched it.
