Hey Chris you should do a video on ball python egg progression I’ve looked it up a bunch and it’s hard to find any info on the development of the embryo eventually becoming a hatchling like there’s plenty of breeding timelines from pairing all the way up to laying and very detailed and lots of sources but not anything about egg development.
@josephvaughan76934 жыл бұрын
Mike wilbanks did a video on cutting eggs early he cut a small v into the eggs on day 44 and they seemed fully developed other than that I can’t find much info on egg development
@ryanearl10814 жыл бұрын
There is very little info throughout the 60 days. Would be nice to see a video with weekly updates on how the eggs progress. Do the eggs ever get hard like a chicken egg before it starts to dimple towards the end. And end with an egg cutting!
@ChrisHardwickanimaladventures4 жыл бұрын
If you keep the humidity up the eggs don't change much on the outside, and the shells get real thick to where you can't even candle them. You'd need a catscan or something LOL

I’m looking to get my first 5 tier rack system. What’s the best substrate to use and how do you control the humidity with the substrate you use?
@ChrisHardwickanimaladventures4 жыл бұрын
This is the best substrate, it's Prococo coconut husk chip. Here's an Amazon affiliate link: amzn.to/3eAMOMS I actually buy it by the pallet and use it for all my snakes. To keep the humidity perfect it should be damp underneath and dry on top, if it's too wet it will mold a little, if it's too dry it won't stay put and will fluff up and get all over the place. You'll be able to dial it in with a little practice. It smells great too!

Coral Glow Lemonblast Owner here, hes such a vibrant yellow with lighter markings. I am wondering can I mate him with a Candino? Would like to get some bright oranges out of it
@ChrisHardwickanimaladventures4 жыл бұрын
You can but you'd get all hets, half het for Candy and half het for Albino. Then you'd have to breed those back to get the visuals, I bet they would look great!

This might be a silly question but what is a Lori Ball Phython? I know Lori is Brian Barczyk’s wife, just wondering if snake breeders use the term “Lori” as a legitimate morph or does Brian Barczyk only uses that term for a specific morph?
@ChrisHardwickanimaladventures4 жыл бұрын
I actually saw that first video where she was interested in holding back for breeding and she marked the tub with her name 'Lori' and I guess the name stuck LOL. Looks close to a Red Axanthic to me, it would be interesting to see if it's compatible.

Hey Chris, I really love your content, but I feel the need to point out a mistake you’ve made a few times when describing genetics. For example, when you explained that the different lines of pastel are different genes that are compatible and located on the same allele, and if a super were produced using the two lines it would have one of each gene, then that super would produce split half and half offspring of two different types of pastel. But it’s not true, in reality the intensity of expression in the pastel gene is a line bred polygenetic trait, meaning that both the low intensity and high intensity pastels have the same gene for pastel, but thousands, possibly millions of genes in the background influence the intensity of expression. Think of Bobby for example, he is an outstanding example of a bamboo, but he has the same exact bamboo gene as any other bamboo, it’s all the unknown genes working together in the background that make Bobby a high intensity bamboo and allow him to pass on his high intensity expression to his offspring. If you bred Bobby to a lackluster low expression bamboo, you would produce a super bamboo, you would not produce a super bamboo with 1 Bobby line bamboo allele and 1 normal line bamboo allele.

Thank You!

I'm not sure about that, I always thought it was similar to Orange Dream. Check out this snake, it's a super with one copy of a high intensity OD and a low intensity OD. www.morphmarket.com/us/c/reptiles/pythons/ball-pythons/247975
