My friend used to sing "I love my drug buddy" to me all the time and I had no idea it was an actual song until years after he died. I thought it was just a silly little thing that he sang to me. I am so happy I get to listen to it all the time. I got the chance to see the Lemonheads live a few months ago and when they played this song I hope my friend was looking over me. I miss you so much Harold

Same here, the 90's were the years of my life, when I was free, fun and cool, very cool. Lots and lots of concerts, festivals, drugs, cigarettes, bad coffee, alcohol, and craziness. Firsts loves, failures and betrayals. Had an Evan Dando's poster in my room on top of my bed, and Pete Townsend's on the other. Had piggy tales on my hair, desert boots on my feet and 70's bell bottoms. I can still smell the feeling every time I listen to The Lemonheads and time travel ........

Of course I loved her more than a friend, but as we lived too far in different countries, and had seen each other personally only a few times, this was all we could have. And I still love her. She's coming over, We'll go out walking, Make a call on the way. She's in the phone booth now, I'm looking in. There comes a smile on her face. There's still some of the same stuff we got yesterday. There's still some of the same stuff we got yesterday, Yeah. I'm too much with myself, I wanna be someone else. I'm too much with myself, I wanna be someone else. I'm too much with myself, I wanna be someone else. So we take off out Fiona's door, Walk until it's light outside, Like before when we were on the phone. We have to laugh to look at each other. We have to laugh 'cause we're not alone. As the cars fly up King St. It's enough to startle us, It's enough to startle us I love my drug buddy. My drug, my drug buddy. I love my drug buddy. My drug, my drug buddy.

God.. I love how depressing this song is.. You know that the stronger emotions you feel when it comes to art the more "True" it is. This song reminds me so much of my ex from when I was 16 and she was 15 and how she had developed drinking issues and started drunk dialing me. It has been 9 years and I can only look back and say that she was my first love. I tried getting back in contact with her when I was 20 and just wanted to be friends but like most addicts in recovery she had to cut me out of her life for her own sobriety.
