Watching old episodes of The LLS is still my go-to for a good time when working around the house. I am often pleasantly surprised at how well the shows have aged. Josh Robert Thompson is such a key ingredient in what makes that show an ongoing treasure. Great interview.

Could not agree more! Their chemistry, and all the tools Josh brought to the table made the show sparkle that much more.

It was fun to go into the LLS weeds with Josh. He's a very funny and talented dude and his impersonations are spot on. I've been a Letterman nut since 82 and a Fergie/LLS nut since 05. Thank you Grant Imahara RIP!

We appreciate your encouragement, and if we have our way, there will be a LOT more LLS coverage from our show moving forward. This Friday we will have a really great Tom Snyder centered episode.

Cool. Thanks for the update. Always enjoyed Tom Snyder after Dave in the 90's not to mention the Tomorrow Show after Johnny.

It was SUCH a great show; them being allowed to do what they wanted led to so many fun, creative directions, many of which Josh was a big part of.

The phrase, “Flying by the seat of your pants” is an actual pilot expression. Pilots are often chided or get themselves into trouble when they rely on the “feeling” they get, in their body instead of relying on their instruments. In the air, there are several things that can actually fool your body into thinking the aircraft is doing one thing, where the instruments are saying another. The trick is, to trust your instruments and ignore the feeling you have “in the seat of your pants.”

I agree totally about what he said regarding public access TV and small market TV stations. Those are the best places to learn about TV production since you get to do everything and can really practice with the equipment.

The ‘UHF’ reference was an excellent one…the idea of Josh owning a tiny TV station so he can make fantastic, weird things is a delightful notion.

Several times now recently, both Craig and Josh have tweeted (seemingly on their own, own their respective accounts) stuff at the very same time. Silly little thing that keeps my hope alive for them to be currently up to something together, that they appear to be on same schedule (at least on one's notifications *ha*).
@thelettermanpodcast Жыл бұрын
We hope to see more collaboration as well…leading simultaneously to Josh being able to do some awesome things on his own as well.

1:35:00 Lassally is also an example what happens to culture that steers away from a free society and choses the path of autocracy and dictatorship. Without the Third Reich, Lassally would probably would have become a broadcaster in Germany and shape its entertainment industry there. The strength of Hollywood is also the result of the talent having to leave Germany, because it dismissed Democracy and a free society.
