I waited and waited for it to come in from the second-hand stores, and after 10 years of searching, I got it.

@@OriverMusic2112 That's awesome, hope someday I can buy one too, do you think the sound is a lot different compare to burke whistle?

@@jojoen3194 Thank you,As for High Whistle, it's a good mix of Bark and Goldie. It has the noiselessness of a bark and the dynamics of a Goldie. It has a deep finger vibrato. It has a special construction with a large cavity in the beak, which gives it the advantage of a fuller tone, but also makes it less responsive to the breath.(The Greenwood Pipes Boisvert, which is said to be similar, has the same mouthpiece shape.) I think that's why Joanie Madden uses the bark in her dance tunes. Also, there are individual differences. I have a HighD-LowG, but the tone of the High D was thin and small, not the sound of Joanie Madden. So I put a C mouthpiece on the D, and the tone became what I heard on the CD. Sorry, I may have talked too much, even in Irish music sessions, my friends tell me that it is different from other whistles. It's a great whistle.

@@OriverMusic2112 Thank you for your detailed explanation, I fell in love with the whistle because I listened to Joanie's album, so it is also the tone I'm pursuing , when I first heard her whistle sound, I felt like in the heaven because it was so beautiful. Although the technique is very important, but having the same whistle can really be closer to the same sound as well. It is a pity that there is no pupil to inherit the master's skill making the same whistle .I do not dare to hope own one ,but I hope to have the chance to play his whistle once in my life time. :)

@@jojoen3194 It was Joanie Madden who first introduced me to the sound of tin whistle too. The sound of her whistle never leaves the heart of anyone who hears it. The whistle has an unusual structure, but I don't think it is technically that complicated to make. It is very wonder that no craftsman has tried to reproduce the same one, even though there is so much demand for it. I do see people trying to do that, but they sound different from O'Riordan. I hope that an O'Riordan whistle will come your way. :D
