Instead of putting money into diminishing returns of high end chip fabs, imagine if we invested that money into open source software optimized to run on 2018 chips which are basically on fire sale but just as capable of running everything we need - including AI if we build models off of other models instead of training from scratch... @@jfudge7384 I just don't understand why RISC-V isn't being invested instead. 14nm RISC-V chips wouldn't need to compete directly with the high end, leave that to the profiteers who are doing well at it. Instead, for the things we actually need chips for - the things we're spending public funds on to ensure supply chains - those things only need simple controllers and older process nodes. There's no reason to invest public funds into helping nVidia or AMD make new nodes, that's absurdly wasteful and counter productive.

I'd love to see fines with exponential rates based on company worth/profits/something when it comes to big companies. $1 million the first day/period, $2 mil the next, $4 mil after that and so on. Gives them time to fix things, but they'd scramble to do it before it starts hitting hard.

When I applied for my European settled status post Brexit it wasn’t just you needed a new phone. It needed NFC input, so although I could NFC output I had to make an appointment with the local government for them to read the chip in my passport. It was ridiculous. They literally were sat in an office and using their personal phone.

29:08 "KZbin Algorithm" Is easily manipulated with your watch history, just turn it on for a few minutes once a week and specifically watch half a dozen videos from your regular content creators, and then leave your history off the rest of the time. It will almost exclusively suggest videos from people you already know, maybe deviating outside your normal habits 10% of the time.

Here in Canada cashless banks have been around for a decade plus. The point is free chequing accounts, bill pay, cheques, debit cards, and sign in verification for government services (ID online but without photocopies of physical ID). Free full service banking = teller-less cashless banking. It's great. Atm still work whenever you need to withdraw cash.

When's the last time you went to Kentucky's version of the DMV? I hate to break it to you Ryan but in the US we wait in lines all the time. Every time you're online request gets stuck in a queue waiting for a human, every time you make an appointment that's still effectively waiting in line. Some areas are lucky enough to be well served so people there don't have to wait in lines of any kind, but most of the population of the country gets to wait in lines everywhere they interact with the government and healthcare industry. The lines are a function of a lack of appropriate resources for systems that interact with humans. The worse the lack the longer the lines. Canada is just as capable of shortchanging it's government offices as we are 😊

My home page didnt change at all, it was still just as garbage as when i had subscriptions. I tried the online application for benefits and it was a 4 day horror story only to get denied before the form is filled. They ask for one peice of data before letting you know the next you need. You photocopy ID then need different ID then different form. That's 3 days of going to the office shop to digitize data.

So FCC is willing to pay up to 75$ to afford internet at private companies doing what they want? I would have done that only if, the ISP changed the cable for a cat8 for the new client. The prices should have been regulated and the usage of other companies cables, free for the ISP to use it for a new client. Because the old cables are deprecated and never been changed and the network is for everyone, not per ISP. There will be fraud I am sure using FCC=income tax to pay to drop to 35month

I personally dislike KZbin recommendations, I'm not a fan of genres, or types of videos I like people, and personalities. Sure I may encounter a personality I enjoy, but more so than anything I just look at it with malice for wasting my time. Every channel I follow is for the host/s that's not something KZbin can recommend for me. Like most people I have many genres I'm interested in. Be it gardening, tech, mechanical repairs, fishing, etc. I rotate hobbies, when I'm on a new hobby I manually search for more content related to that. If I find someone I like I subscribe, I stick with them even if I'm on a different hobby ATM. I know what I like, I hate what I what's not that, and until I decide if I like it I hate it. Most KZbin recommendations are really click bait styled thumbnails, I see them a lot. Instant "do not recommend channel" and if I sub and they start doing it I leave, same with shorts. I get people want to grow their channels, that means using all the stupid tools, and means KZbin forces upon them but I hate that style. I would rather go without than live with something that annoys me every time I see it.
